Right I downloaded this http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=3005

When I start the game and click on this new database it says 'could not process rule group setting in editor data/newscotland.xml Active Nation Scottish Cup - Too many teams (20) requested from Clydesdale Bank Premier League (12 teams)'

What do I do? Because it does work it has so for a lot of people just dont know what to do. Can anyone help?
 
You need to open the editor and change the number of teams required in the nations rules settings.

Because it doesnt let me open up this new database?
 
I read the description from the creator earlier and he said there were a few technical difficulties.You might want to VM him and see what's going on.
 
Hes on the same Rangers Forum as me and he said that the only fault was that when the world cup is on the game goes slow and the same with the first round of the Scottish Active Nations Cup.

Right I was doing something wrong and I can now get the databases Nation rules thing up.

But when I click Test Nation Rules it comes up 'Active Nations Scottish Cup - Too many team (20) requested from Clydesdale Bank (12)'

Even though on the clydesdale bank page it says min team in league 20 max teams in league 20/

WTF. I just had a look at the Clydesdale bank and the irn bru league and there is only 12 teams in it and 10 in the Irn Bru league when there is supposed to be 20 in the clydesdale and i cant remember how many in the irnbru league.

I just dont get it? I downloaded it and everythings right apart from the teams :S
 
I don't want to sound daft, but can you tell me the following as I'm not 100% sure on what you're supposed to be seeing. Is this supposed to be a bigger Clydesdale Bank and Iron Bru league? Or have the bigger numbers only come to light when you've tried to start the game?

Better still, if you have a link to the OP of the file you downloaded I'll be able to help you better.

Ok m8, thanks for waiting.

I've downloaded and ran this database and found no problems with it. I'd suggested downloading it again -- just in case the author of the file has replaced an older version with the one that's there now. Also, when you start a new game, be sure to check that you are running this database on its own -- running two databases with this type of editing can cause conflicts.

Still isn't working.

Im just going to unistall it and download it again and see what happens. Maybe ive deleted a file or something not sure.

Ill let you know what happens anyway and thanks for all your help. Does it matter if I download it with steam or not because currently I haven't downloaded steam with it right now.

Are you definately running this database on its own? When you start a new game a pop-up box appears asking you to select a database. In the bottom corner of this box it says change. Tick that and then ok and double check you have no other databases running.

I can't think of any other reason why it's not working m8. The database itself is fine -- I've had it running on my machine with no problems.
 
Yes I have clicked that.

I dont have a clue either. Really dont understand.

Its defos to do with the teams because when I go on to nation rules it says test nation rules I click that it says 'blah blah blah you have selected 20 teams and there only is 12 and when I check the database its right there only is 12 teams in the league. But why?
 
That is really odd m8 -- I don't know why it's doing that?

Re-editing the database is probably you're best then, but you'll have to double check the entrants into the cups aswell to make sure they're going to collect all the teams for the competition.

Do you know how to edit the teams in etc? Or do you need help?
