Cotterill And Portsmouth Part Company
Sky Sports understand that earlier today at 3:15pm that Portsmouth and manager Steve Cotterill have agreed a settlement for Cotterill to leave Fratton Park . It is firmly believed that Cotterill has went to the board in certain occasions already so far this season and said " if uses want Portsmouth back up to the English Premier League you will have to give me some certain amount of money will only 15 senior players and one on loan . The board's reaction had a big part in Cotterill Leaving Fratton Park with the board saying NO to the money !
Steve Cotterill will be sadly missed

Kevin Keegan : I havent had any contact yet from Pompy but i am not ruling myself out for the job just yet.
Sky Sports : Desbite all the Debt that they are in and with Cotterill rejected money to spend do you think that you would have a budget? and didnt would you still accept there offer?
Kevin Keegan : No point hiding any fact that they are in a mess with the debt at the moment and i cant say i would have a budget because i am not the manager am i ?

Today portsmouth's Chairman David Burrow has came out and said that Kevin isnt on there 4 names on there list . Sammy Lee , Alan Shearer , David James & Gianfranco Zola are the names we have on our radar at the moment in time thanks.

David James playing last year and now taking a big big role has a manager of a Debt Ridden team Portsmouth into the Championship with suspected no money . CHAIRMAN's Statement :
We have made a great appointment personally maybe James isnt experinced at this level of coaching but he has been taken Coaching Classes etc.. for the past 5-6 years. David knows about the situation of the club and we are trying our damdass to try and get someone with money into buying the club now . We Couldnt have given Steve Cotterill money to spend and he did say " i am off then " and we had no choice but to sack him for his attuide. I had this get together today for the fans to get behind David from the word go . Thanks

Manager's Statement :
This is a privledge for me to take manage a such has Portsmouth . I was part of that team that got releglated this season and i feel it is my responabilty to get them promoted has soon as possible. I want to thank David Burrows for having faith in me and chosen me over such standard manager's such as Gianfranco Zola . I know i wont have money unless i sell EVEN more players this season and with a squad of 15 senior players this is my biggest challenge ever !
