Wolves boss Mick McCarthy dismisses as "a pile of nonsense" the bad publicity surrounding the club.

I saw them against Fulham on Saturday and they were very aggressive - Stoke-esque in some ways, but slightly worse in my opinion. The Bobby Zamora tackjle looked nasty to me, coming in from behind.

From what I saw last weekend, they not doing proper malicious fouls like they did on Barton the other week but it the little things like pulling oppositions shirt, treading on the toes of players and cynical fouls that really stopped us from playing, I am pretty sure McCarthy encourages his players to do this to. Surely if you're gonna play Mancienne and Henry in central midfield, you're not interested in playing the game properly.

I agree, were you at the game on Saturday? The ref didn't have a great game, there were subtle fouls all over the place which he didn't pick up on. They are certainly a team who push the weight about a bit, especially against teams like Arsenal and Fulham, who like to get the ball down and play it.

In other news, Wayne Rooney's an honest, professional who can't stop scoring at the moment.

Of course they're a dirty side. But this is coming from an Arsenal fan :p

teams play to their strenghs simple as that. If Wolves are putting in bad challenges then the refs should do their job and punish them properly. By the way massivly off topic but this is my 4,000th post!!!!

Karl Henry isnt even a good player, he just goes out there to foul the other team, do dirty **** but he goes too far sometimes. Dont like him. As for this comment from McCarthy, hes talking rubbish, they stayed up last season by playing physical defensive ugly football.

The word anti-football springs to mind...

Joey Barton left the Wolves game with a few cuts and bruises, bless him. I actally love McCarthy, his media intervies are always quite entertaining, and he's managed to sign some good players and turn Wolves into an established Premierleague side.

Not dirty side, but what they did to Barton was unacceptable. 1 or 2 mistime tackles are ok, but kicking him from the very first min was definitely dirty. I havent seen them doing in any games (I haven't watched game against Fulham).

I don't really watch Wolves much but I admit I judged them on one game and the Barton incident and they were both a disgrace to football, Wolves are playing football the wrong way, there is passion in football and then there is rule breaking.

I still dont get why FA didnt take any action on Barton incident. May be coz he is Barton. Missed out Fulham game, even didnt get any video to watch Zamora injury. Maybe seeing likes of Stoke surviving and then building, Wolves are trying to do the same.
