Hi

I plan to buy this game today but would like to play it on 2 different computers, will it work with the disk ?

also

will i get all the updates on both computers ?

both computers are in the same house. i understand the activation only worked for 1 computer :S

If you install via Steam you can install it on any computer... ;)

What is more Steam automatically updates your games.

For instance, I have Steam on both my desktop and laptop, and I have installed FM11 on both machines via Steam. One problem is that you can't be logged in at two places at once, but this is easily fixed by just using offline mode.

thanks very much

so if im playing on one computer...... my brother can play on the other computer at home in offline mode ?

If you have the disk, you can install it on as many systems as you like.

fantastic

and i can download the updates from the site also, id want a fairly updated game on both systems as id use both :p

Alternatively, you could install your copy via Steam and your brother could install the 'old fashioned way'. ;)

If you install on different computers, the games are not linked in any way. Well it's not as long as you've done it with the disk.

Hopefully i dont get anti-piracy bashed for saying this, however you could always no-cd patch it. My dad is a casual FM player so i installed my bought copy onto his comp and no-cd patched it so he could play at his convenience, if you plan on networking or playing online do not no-cd patch! You will be out of sync with everyone using the disc or using steam

not sure what you mean Jono by no-cd patch it ?

does this mean install without steam on the 2 home computers and just download the patch from website ?

If you have the disk and you install it on more than 1 system that is not piracy I believe.
Do you mean you made an image of it.
As far as I know if you have bought the CD it is fine if you make an image as long as your not putting it up for download on a site like pirate bay etc.

I have bought the cd copy, i installed it on my dads comp and then no-cd patched it for him.
I currently still live at home so im pretty sure ive done nothing wrong, however ive also noticed how anti-piracy these forums are.

Yes my dad plays FM, 6 months of watching me play it had him asking to play it to hes 60 years old to which makes it funnier!

So can 2 people be logged into one steam account at once on different computers?

Just install both games using Steam. When one person logs in and the other is already using FM it doesn't kick them off of FM it just kicks them out of Steam.
