Wouldn't scottish football be better with different leagues

Quality thread, A++, would read again.

Ok chaps
I mean because teams play each other 4/5/6 times per year they should expand the leagues and bring in junior teams
Post back with your ideas

So that the poorer teams could get spanked 5-0 every week?

each team plays 3 times a year, but the top 6 play each other and bottom 6 play each other so they play each other 4 times. a 20 team league would be a bit much Saying there is a huge diffference between Rangers, Celtic and eve Dundee United compaired to the likes of bottom end Division 1 teams, Stirling, Morton etc. but meh could be done easily. you might see me post a file here if i amen't being lazy :D

Why dont the SFA just download my Leagues Expanded database and do that lol

Here's what I think.

It's obvious that, for now, a 12-team SPL is good enough for the country. Actually, our league structure is good enough as well. What we need is more funding for the other teams [i.e; Dundee United, Aberdeen, Inverness CT, etc.] or to impose a nationwide transfer ban for at least a season to see if the other teams can improve and maybe even bring through some good young talent.

As for bringing in junior teams? No way. Junior teams play some Third Division teams in the Scottish Cup and get beaten nearly all the time [main exception was when Spartans got to the Quarters.] If junior teams WERE to be introduced, then I think it should be on relegation/promotion rules, kind of like the way it goes from First to Third divisions.

your posts are good
heres my idea

SPL-16 teams
SPL2-16 teams
SPL North-16 teams
SPL Central-16 teams
SPL South-16 teams
Northern League
Central League
Southern League
North 1
Central 1
South 1
SE 1
SW 1
Eastern District
ect-

an SPL of 16 would be more interesting 2 relegated 2 promoted and an SPL 2 with 3 going down into north central and south irn bru leagues? Then teams like Largs, Pollok, spartans then ****** local teams liek Greenock and Port Glasgow:L
