Roy Hodgson does not believe any other manager could get more out of the Liverpool team given current resources.
Liverpool's manager, who had "great confidence" in his ability, said "Whoever takes my place will be in a similar job with similar players."

full article here

What do you guys think of these remarks, especially Liverpool fans? First thing I would say is another manager may actually not play Mierles on the right wing and actually be tempted to play offensively away from home, especially against the 'weaker teams'

He's retarded talking in the media, and a small time manager. I'm shocked he's still here, he's shocking.

Just not up-to scratch, made Liverpool a mid-table team.

He's done excellent job with Fulham. I don't know what has been now in Liverpool with him..

I don't exactly have faith in such a manager. Okay he took Fulham to the Europa League final, then joined Liverpool and basically screwed them up. I think it is time for them to have a new manager, someone who is at least much better, and actually has better faith in his ability.

He made Liverpool a mid table team..... Yes because it is all him, Nothing to do with **** squad he inherited, the ***** owners who worked under... Not at all.

I'm backing Roy. I think his achievements with his past clubs goes without saying and i believe it took him a while to get Fulham going and look how well he did with them so i think in time he will lead us to glory but there are a lot better managers out there

Yeah, you know what I mean.

Liverpool are a mid-table team, Hodgy didn't make them, but certainly didn't help.

Really? He's an old man, who won't be here for 4+ years guaranteed, plus I don't want us to play that type of big balls to the flanks type of football.

Love that people say he did an excellent job with Fulham, no he didn't (imo). People seem to forget Steve McCLaren's run in the Europa league with Middlesborough. A lucky cup run doth not a good team make....I mean jesus look at the team we won the CL with! Traore has got to be the worst player to ever recieve a cl winners medal.

Roy is a (not so terrible manager I may have over reacted a touch), I saw someone post on the LFC forums that Hodgson has only won 11 away games since 1997..I don't know how reliable a stat that is (I'm sure someone could find out with a bit of digging) but if true that's an absolutely appauling statistic & makes you wonder how the guy has managed to blag his way through premier league management for all these years!

He said judge him after 10 games, I did, I thought he should of gone then but we kept hold of him, it's now been almost 20 (league games) & although we are starting to improve here & there I still think he's awful. It's taken him all this time to move Meireles into the centre & persists with playing a formation our squad isn't suited to & wonders why we look about as dangerous as a 3 legged kitten going forward (Just ******* go back to 4-5-1!!!!)...some of the decisions he's made since he's been here have been absolutely baffling & I'm not talking about the transfer window. Playing RM on the right, dropping Babel for a completely uninterested looking Torres after playing his 2 best games for the club in a long time, playing Carra /Skrtel instead of Kyrgiakos despite Kyrgiakos looking like our only half decent defender for start of the campaign. Not bringing Wilson into the side despite our back four looking like they've forgotten what defending is, playing Pacheco shunted out on the right & then dropping him after the whole team looked absolutely abysmal. Idespite him looking like one of the few players in our reserves that actually deserves a shot in the first team on merit). The list goes on & on!

Sorry to rant but he absolutely infuriates me & if he was any other manager the press would of ripped him a new arsehole but because it's Roy he's seemingly untouchable. Mancini's City side are within touching distance of the title despite playing like **** for the majority of the season so far & yet the media tear him a new one week in week out. The sooner he gets the boot & takes the Blackburn job the happier I'll be in all honesty.

Well Roy, I'm glad you have faith in yourself fella.
cos no one else does.

He has faith in his own ability, that's good..

Problem is we don't have faith in his ability.

i like the man alot but i guess we all know why. with my non biasd head on he is woeful and longer pool keep hold of him the longer it will be that pool can start this revival.

Not only does he use crappy defending tactics that don't work, but he also talks down to the team.

"No one could do better with the current resources."
Why the **** is he saying that?
Does he think that this will help the players confidence or get them motivated?
Because it won't.

I can't believe Henry and Werner said he was doing well and that they wanted to keep him as a manager yesterday at the phone-in TV show. He's just not the right guy for the job and I hope Henry realizes the as he learns more and more about football.

Having said that, I think he would be good for the Blackburn role.

Tbf Henry isn't exactly going to slate Roy on public radio

I don't like him and never did and as a Liverpool fan i want him out asap.
