Championship Manager Finished?

Out of boredom I decided to check out the Championship Manager forums to see how their getting on with the new game as I was wondering why it wasn't out by now but when I got to the forums it was like a ghost town. Noyone on it and all the threads were just about people giving out that their is no new game and how BGS are not letting them know anything and keeping them in the dark about the future of the game, Now I have CM 2010 and it is the worst manager sim I have ever played. But I think a little rivilary is good in business as it will make each company strive to beat each other.

So what do you think of BGS decision to scrap Championship Manager and do you think it was expected after the shambles of CM 2010.
 
cm 10 was a train wreck :D

they should not bother will releasing **** games anymore, saves us consumers the hussle and bussle ;)
 
I tried the CM10 demo out cause I was curious, and it was really appalling. Just the whole thing was a shambles. So i tried my mates full game, and it was just like the demo. Appalling. So to choose to scrap CM, I'm not surprised. But I agree, FM needs competition. Without it, FM will just become stale.

They did announce after they released the iPhone version that there will not be a PC version this year.
 
yeah i guess lol. But I just can't see how FM can be beaten after the latest release, cause it really is the best footie management sim I've ever played (since the patch stopped the crashes lol)

The last time I played a good Championship Manage was 03-04, the game has sucked so badly since SI stopped making it. Can't see why they would want to carry on wasting money on Championship Manager when it's so clearly dead. As for FIFA Manager, this years version is the most complicated game I've ever played. All we need is FM :)
 
The last Championship Manager I played was CM4, where they first introduced the 2D match screen!
From then on, its been FM all the way!
 
which CM was the game where you chose how much to pay for it? Being able to name your own price just shows how bad a game CM is now
 
I'll pirate CM to give it a chance (pirate beause im 95% sure I won't be playing it and hence don't want to pay), but if it ever impresses me I've got no problems switching, its just never come close to FM for me.
 
Not suprised if CM have given up, when Eidos and SI split Eidos kept the name, SI kept the game...

CM has been living off the name SI made for them, a slow but inevitable death was on the cards from the moment FM 2005 was released
 
Haven't touched Champ Man since CM 03-04, for me Football Manager is the true continuation of the original Championship Manager series, the 2005 onwards CMs were only CM by name.

i bought CM5 and FM 2005, if i remember rightly CM5 came out first, trying to get extra sales off its name and early release

all i can say is that it didn't take long after the release of FM2005 for me to realize i had bought my last ever CM game

To be honest i wasn't a fan of CM4/ or CM03/04 - just awful games - if FM 2005 hadn't been as good as it was then i may have lost interest in football management sims all together

can see why SI went their own way after CM4

I would still have LMA Manager Series if they did not stop that production as well
I dare say LMA is (was) > FM :O
But CM started falling away when it stopped being CM and started being manufactured garbage in 09.

It was much more simple which for some people made it better than FM. However I enjoy the more in depth of FM so would rate it higher than LMA
