Hi everyone,

Im playing my second year as Barcelona coach and have made me quite the world class squad. The only problem is that Xavi, who now is 31, his stats are rapidly declining (unfortunately). For the moment he's still a good player but in a year or 2 he'll prob be pretty much useless for my squad. So it is time to look for "the next Xavi". As everyone knows his replacement will have some very big shoes to fill. Now i actually did find the perfect replacement ie. Javier Pastore. Only problem is that Palermo are asking around € 55M for him which is just too much for me.
So (finally :p) here is my question: Does anyone know a good Xavi replacement ie. a very good midfield playmaker that can bring something to the best squad in the world? He should have good dribbling, first touch, passing, technique and creativity stats and preferably he should also be good at free kicks... Now I know i can just filter these stats to find some players who fit the profile, but you can't filter on the hidden stats of the players. And I don't want to end up with a Balotelli type of player or someone who craps his pants on the big matches etc. So if you had some experience with a good player who fits the profile, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

FYI Thiago has one of the highest potential abilities on the game.. :)

Marek Hamsik, Fabregas, Nuri Sahin, Toni Kroos, Yoann Gourcuff.

Really? He's been a superb back up player for me, but he has never showed me he's capable of replacing Xavi though. Thanks for the tip

Take a look at this.

You should have a quite huge budget when you finish the second season and Pastore is one of the best. others- Paolo Henrique, Hamsik, Ramsey. Cesc is the closest thing to Xavi but he'll cost you 80M pounds.

Ty for all the suggestions! And yes i have a transfer budget of about 170M for the moment (H) But still, I have a rule to never give more then +/- 30M for one player (Barca is waaaay too good to start acting like the next Man City)
I actually tried to sign Cesc in the first season but arsenal asked around 180M for him, lol!

Zaragoza's Kevin is touted as the next Xavi. 2 million more than enough

Unsettle Cesc?

How abotu Joao Moutinho?

Believe me, I tried! But he's just too **** happy at Arsenal :S Moutinho is a good player, but to replace Xavi...

It seems Toni Kroos is currently alienated and wants to leave Bayern. And he fits the profile. Kaching! <) But I'm gonna have a good look at the other suggestions too.

Javi Garcia is more like an anchorman.

Paulo Henrique and Pastore have the highest potential in game for that position I think.

Lol i totally agree with you
here are a few who have higher potential rating for positions CM and AM than pastore;
Mesut Özil
Georginio Wijnaldum
Sergio Canales
Paulo Henrique
Miralem Pjanic

These players have equal potential or just a little bit lower, but are still great players in the making:
Stevan Jovetic
Eden Hazard
Toni Kroos
Renato Augusto

I wouldn't sign kevin, as he's nog good at this moment, and he can't become as good as xavi unfortunately

paulo henrique, pjanic, kroos, fabregas, nasri, hamsik, gourcuff, sahin
