your first sentence is the same for la liga since Valencia. sure the others have a shout, but the always the same two
Yeah, that's why it would be good for someone else to win La Liga. But the reason no one is right now is because Barca is one of the all-time great teams. Hopefully when this Barca team crumbles, it will be someone other than Real Madrid taking the title.
This season has swung back and forth, do you not remember chelsea being five points clearly everyone thinking they will run away with it... cue their spectacular collapse.
As for Chelsea, yes, as I said before, it's only going to be Chelsea or ManU. The title races between Celtic and Rangers or Real Madrid and Barca are often times close, but we criticize those leagues because it's good to have more than two teams with a shot at the title. The point I'm making is that the Prem is pretty much the same, so I hope to see a different team take the title at some point. That's why I don't mind City to much: at least someone is trying to break the duopoly. Also, I really didn't think Chelsea going to win it this season, I thought they were too old and that injuries could catch up to them. I was really surprised by their success early on. But you proved my point though: it's only going to be Chelsea or ManU.
Hopefully Arsenal can stay reasonably healthy next season, and they might have a chance since their young players should continue to improve. City should have a chance too. So next season might be the first time in years that someone other than Chelsea or ManU has a serious chance at taking the title, and I, like most neutrals, would love to see this happen. Of course I want Arsenal to win rather than City because of their fiscal policy, but I would prefer City to one of the Big 2 so things get changed up.
There are only two sides i dont want to see win if we dont, city or liverpool
You're saying you wouldn't rather see Tottenham or Arsenal take the title than Chelsea? I certainly would.
EPL is the most competitive league ever.
Sigh. In what way? Clearly, La Liga's title race is much more competitive. You lose a game and you're out of it, and I really don't think any English teams could challenge either Madrid or Barca if they played in Spain. And none of the English teams are that good this year. Chelsea is a shadow of its former self, Arsenal has a lot of injury problems, and this ManU team isn't half as good as the one in 08-09, when they had Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo (and an in-form Rooney), and Scholes and company were even younger.
For Champions League spots? Yes, this year it is very competitive, you have 5 teams competing for four spots. Last season marked the first time this happened in England in years: you had another team actually breaking up the Big 4, since Liverpool fell apart. But still, it's not the most competitive 'ever,' and when you think about it, 5 fighting for 4 spots isn't that spectacular. La Liga in 08-09 had 6 very, very good Champions League caliber teams fighting for 4 CL spots, while in England it was the same big 4 (Villa looked capable of breaking it up for a while, but we all knew it wouldn't happen). In Italy, frequently you'll have 5 or 6 teams seriously in the CL race, sometimes 7.
The Prem the past two seasons have had the most 'good' teams, but even then, I personally think the bottom 10 of La Liga are better than the bottom 10 of the Prem. Look at how much Atletico and Sevilla are struggling since they constantly drop points to lower teams. Both of those are great teams with great players and they have a really hard time being consistent. True, Barca and Madrid almost always win, but those are exceptional teams.
The past two seasons I give the edge to the Prem in terms of overall quality but they're close, and I'm really sick of hearing all of the PL fanboys constantly talking about how it's miles ahead of Spain and Italy. It's just not true. The La Liga/SPL comparisons are particularly annoying considering the PL is the same, you only have two different teams that can win the title (and for the first time in a long time, one of those teams is struggling and probably won't finish in second).
