eriksson.jpg

Ex Manchester City and England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson has left Leicester City by mutual consent. The Leicester City board have said they would like a fresh start with a young English manager but will not comment further. Assistant Manager Derek Fazackerley will take temporary charge until a new manager is announced.

Leicester City managerial post odds

Following Leicester City's statement on their official website about Eriksson leaving, and them wanting to appoint a young English manager, Sky Sports have compiled odds on 5 specific managers to be the next manager. Southgate is favourites for the job, having experience and no club, but Huddersfield manager Lee Clark and Adrian Boothroyd are also in with a shout. Outside favourites are Paul Trollope, also without a club, and ex-Leicester City footballer Chris Waring, who has no previous experience but is regarded as a 'cult hero' to the Foxes' fans.

Leicester City announce new manager

mystman.jpg

Leicester City are delighted to announce that 25 year old Chris Waring, who had his career at Leicester City cut short due to injury, will be returning to the club as manager. Waring will take charge of training for the first time on the 6th of July, and will take charge of his first match behind closed doors against Leicester Reserves on the 8th of July.

In an exclusive interview with Foxes Player, Chris Waring admitted that he was very excited at the role and looking forward to managing Leicester. No doubt Leicester fans will want to see how Waring will cope as new Leicester manager, but Foxes fans can see their new manager in the match between St. Mirren on the 12th of July. Tickets are now on sale at a price of £8 for adults and £4 for children.

First game of the season and a good win, narrow scoreline just because of two penalties but thanks to a great hattrick by Eagles on his debut we get off to a good start.

Stockport County vs Leicester City (Carling Cup Round 1)

No disrespect to Stockport but wanted to win by more, with a strong team out, and deserved more but we still get a good win away from home in the cup.

Watford vs Leicester City

Another solid win, scored all the goals very early with Yakubu netting his first goal for the club and a good double. Scored the goals very early on which was a good sign.

Millwall vs Leicester City

Great win, and away from home, didn't deserve to win by that much but we took our chances and it shows. Vassell scoring the 2nd league hattrick of the season for Leicester after 3 games which is another great sign of goalscorers in the thin squad.

Barnsley vs Leicester City (Carling Cup 2nd Round)

Should of won by more but once again we got the win which saw us go through to the next round of the cup and maintain our 100% record in all competitions (and friendlies) thanks to a great strike by Vassell.

Leicester City vs Swansea City

Finally back at home and with a solid win having Vassell scoring again and Lallana looking like a good purchase and chipping in with a goal.

Doncaster Rovers vs Leicester City

Sigh. First loss as manager in all competitions and to be fair we didn't deserve to get anything from the game against an organised Doncaster team.
