11.3 Leeds United Tactics and Purchases

Hi

I keep struggling with Leeds. They have 0 transfer funds at the start of the current season but can sign a few players on free or loans.

I buy Quinton Fortune as leeds really need a defensive midfielder. Im trying to find some semi decent fullbacks as leeds have no Left back at the start of the season both being injured. Also i want an additional striker as Somma hasnt been improved in this release. Fabian Brandy refuses to even discuss terms and ends up joinging L2 sides which makes no sense to me! And having no transfer funds means i cant buy kezman either.

Tactically i struggle i have tried a few tactics but leeds being like the real leeds im terribly leaky in defence but just cannot score. I tried both Rainkens tactics and have match prep all set up.

Im also a bit annoyed in 11.3 that they have not improved some players like Max Gradel who is having an amazing season who still in this version isnt really championship material. In fact the entire squad in generl is 2-3 stars.

You'll definitely need huge improvements in that case...firstly about the players...since you need a left back...try and loan some, or free transfers if not sign a young full back from lower teams? For the striker the same, loans, free transfer, look for premier league's reserves and look for strikers. Also Transfer Listed are very useful! I don't know why Brandy wanted to leave...what was his role? Key player? First team? Rotation?

For tactics, this is what i do..i choose the best formation for my team. So if i have two good strikers and wingers, i go for 4-4-2, If i only have one good striker while have great midfield then it is best for 4-5-1, 4-1-4-1 etc. However, if you have lots of strikers and less midfield then 4-3-3. Just really depends on what your team is best at. So if you could, explain what kind of players do you have? Pacy players? Skillful players with dribbling etc. Are they slow or fast?

Get a scout to scout your next opposition and take in mind what they do and counter their football. Lastly, do you like rotating roles? Using subs? Or just keep to the same starting 11 all the time with few changing?

nice to see a fellow Leeds fan on the site. Im currently in mid November first season and am 4th, 3 points off top. Like you I saw I needed 2 few full backs, 1 lb and 1 rb. For lb I had to adjust the wage budget a bit to give me a little cash and I brought in Greg Cunningham on loan from Man City, £350K fee (expensive but he was my only decent option). He is fairly solid. Now that McCartney is fit again those 2 rotate. For Rb I brought in Walid Regragui on a free. He's been very good but is 34 so I only gave him a year contract. Also brought in Jordan Spence on loan to be a CB, despite his best position being Rb hes been my best defender. loan fee of £150K. For my DM I brought in Jordan Mutch for £190K loan fee and he has been pretty good. To be able to afford all this I had to ask my board to give a bigger wage budget, which they did. Into the season I brought in Kanfory (DM) and Calum Davenport (CB) both for free. They look good but haven't played much for me yet. Try sign them in summer (tho I think Davenport is injured). Tactics wise I have played a 4-1-2-2-1 and it has been successful. Will screenshot the tactics to show you what it looks like. Paynter has been good for me since coming back from injury and Somma has been also good for me. O'Brien and Bruce were being fairly useless for me so I have been playing Bromby and Spence most of the season and they have both been pretty solid. I also change the majority of my staff.
