I've been to international games, to the champions league matches, and I would rate my experience at the Portland Timber's home opener to be among the best I've ever had at a football match.

If you haven't seen this (or some proper highlights) you're missing out. American's play may be behind that the Europe but our fans (in some places) are on the same level.

EDIT: I suppose I should say "not all MLS supporters..."

That was pretty cool!

My Norwegian local team's song is about a church burning down, stereotypically enough;p

Great to see you made it out to a game. The Northwest has the best soccer fans in the country. The Sounders were the best expansion team in the history of US sports, and from what I hear, the Vancouver and Portland fans are great too. When Beckham played in Seattle he said he felt like he was in Europe. I think the MLS is on its way to becoming a niche league like the NHL: maybe not a lot of national viewership but a lot of local support in certain areas. I really hope the league stays financially viable so we can get a good youth system going, and most importantly, I hope the sport becomes much more popular to young kids the way it is in other countries (as in the kids learn the sport by constantly playing as soon as they can walk and when they're a little older, pick-up with their friends) as opposed to learning it at a late age in a co-ed rec environment with parents who've never played the sport as coaches. Once that happens we'll be great at the sport.
