Alright, so i know that alot of people i gather don't even bother using the notebook. I play manager games as realistically as possible, as you could tell by me telling you that i watch my fixtures in 'Full Match'. I use the notebook regularly, before each fixture i give myself a review of what tactics to use. I have just started my FM11 career under Huddersfield Town. Played all my friendlies, and i had made this note 3 weeks prior to the opening game agains't Brentford. Then i finished it off on the day when i saw what formation they were going to use and what line-up. I have to go to work now, so having this note saved can tell me what tactics ill be using without having to re-think it through. Things i will add on when it happens, but this is just a simple but effective way to remember your tactics for your fixture. It's supposed to be your notebook that every manager has when they are sitting on the bench during their matches.

Heres the note i made today, which i will check back on after work.

In the note, i have type'd up firstly of what i can expect from them. The first paragraph is what i wrote a few weeks back, when i went into their team and researched some things of my own.

Then the bottom section i went again and had a look, this time knowing the formation that was on their tactics screen is highly likely to be the one that they will field again. So i put my tactics down in which i believe will help me begin the game i want to. I write down my formation, and some general tips to what im going to use for my team philisophy and settings.

The notebook is a real help. You should really use this, it can prove the difference between a win and a loss.

quick question. how do you decide what to put about your opponents and how do you find it out?

for example you put "brentford are underdogs to us by 1.3 so we should use a counter attacking mentality"
what does the 1.3 bit mean? how did you find it? and why would this mean using a counter attacking mentality?

thanks in advance (-:

The odds before the game, you are given. We were on $2.50 to win the game, they were on like $3.70 or something. which is around a 1.30 gap, it was only an estimate, im not too sure. But it's saying that they are underdogs by those odds, and it says that we are favourites.
The odds come up via your inbox a day before your league/cup fixtures... e.g.

As you can also see, i was 1 off from the correct odds, as i said it was only an estimate, i was in a rush. Thanks to these tactics i ended up winning the fixture 2-0.

about your second question. It says "We should go out with a mentality that keeps us weiry of a counter attack".. which means i was trying to set up a mentality which made my players keep an closer eye on those "transition" players who can make an instant counter attack from them. When the odds are around 1.0-2.0 i tend to try and dominate them game, but watch for the counter, but sometimes it can depend on the type of opponent and the pitch im playing on. If you need to know anything else. Just ask.

I just put it that way because according to the stats he is very determined and has a high work rate.. which to me means that he is always motivated and willing to succeed. So, in MY eyes he has a high arousal level. It's not a stat in the game, it is in my book.
