ever had a tactic work the first season then go down the toilet in the 2nd

In my first season with man united i won everything except the champs league, lost 3-1 vs barca funny enough

anyway 2nd season im doing not so well, went out the league cup at hiome to birmingham lol, and in the league ive P 15 W 9 D 4 L 2 im 4 points adrift with a game inhand and I just remembered the board didnt let me select challengers pre season and auto selected champions so a little worried m

yeah had one. 4-1-4-1.

dominated every match, also in champions league. the next season, i won matches, but not impressively. i switched to 4-4-2

That's normal, teams get used to your play and learn how to counter it.
If you ask me you should change your tactic each season, if not for anything else then at least so it doesn't get boring. Having the same tactic all the time makes the game a bit dull as you know what you'll see every match. Change it up a bit and take some risks.

I had a lot of tactics which worked exceptionally well for the team I originally built it for but when trying with another team it just didn't work. Basically all my tactics except one is like that. The only one which gives me excellent results in all teams I tried so far is my wing attack tactics which I linked in my blog.

I've recently posted my happiness on how great my tactic is (I've been using it all season & have held top spot for ****** ages) but the problem is my tactic has tured to **** (I havent chaanged a thing yet my players are acting like local rookies) :/ I also manage man u and lost 2-0 to watford (Very lame) but earlier in the season with the same tactic I beat watford 7-1.
so thats true blekaut that teams counter our tactic??. I had not considered that.
I was thinking of changing my formation from 442 ( Also Complete re-vamp of my tactics) to what Lol-101 mentioned 4-1-4-1 .
its so frustrating because the same thing happened to me with perth glory (Hyandai A league) I was at the top for ages then completely turned to **** I lost the devison by 1 point and I fear the exact same thing will happen again.
should I make huge tactical changes or just minor edits? :/

I would say minor edits. If you have/ever had a winning team, you shouldn't change too much. My Tottenham team went from winning the League in the first season, to have an embarrassing start of a second season. That was when I found out the team wasn't really working anymore due to players leaving/coming, and had to approach things differently. I wouldn't change the formation, for starter, and check you d-line and such. Players roles, etc etc
