The first half of my season i wasn't doing too bad, managed to win most games.
my problem however is since around november i cannot seem to win. I've gone from winning most games to drawing.
can anyone suggest how i can improve thanks.

I would suggest to change the defensive line. Perhaps you should play with a deeper one. Is the problem that you don't score enough or that you concede too many?

Well its not too bad your 3rd in the league ? Over achieving in my books.

Perhaps your players are getting complacent ? What are your results like ? Are you drawing 2-2 ? 1-1, 0-0 ?

Where are the conceded goals (If any) coming from ?

Any of your strikers hitting goal droughts ?

Need a little bit more info.

Perhaps drop macheda, on a little bad form.

try increasing your width to stretch the opposition

i'm managing to shoot but my players can never seem to find the net.
three of my strikers are having goal droughts.
my problem seems that lately i'm not managing to score. i can hold off the opposition but when i score my players get complacent and let them equalize.

sorry my conceded goals mainly come from just inside and around the box.

Personally dont seem to find it that bad. Drawing to Man Utd Home or Away isnt bad going.

Where your conceding from doesn't really matter since its the odd goal or your getting a clean sheet. It seems to be about the striking goal droughts.

Try giving your strikers a pep talk (private chat) and give them good team talks.

I would probably drop macheda, his last 5 games average is pretty poor compared to the rest of your team.

your tactics are obviously fine since your 3rd it maybe down to complaceny ?

One thing I will say about your tactic is IMO if like you are are playing a highish line and quite narrow why are you playing with more direct passing ?

ADDED:

Looking at your team selection and setup I think its perhaps a little negative ?

You haven't got any wingers and are probably relying on your Full backs to get forward ? Think either you need to look to get some full backs who can actually attack with pace or perhaps have a rethink of your team.

For example an ideal formation would be to shift your Central midfield around as follows:

Have your more defensive minded midfielder as Scott Parker perhaps play him a playmaker ?

on the right play Behrami and on the left play Kieran Richardson. Allow both of these players to run wide and to the wing to add a bit of wing play. (cant remember the exact box's to tick, but you will find it) Still keep them as support though.

Add a few more notches of width aswell 3-4 notches.

Defintly think your team is set up not to loose and its doing a good job of that.

Alternativly if you have a bit of spare cash get two decent attacking full backs and allow them to attack and run down the wings.

Either Or. If you give it a try let me know how you get on.

At half-time just say something like "don't get careless".

Also at the start of a game if complacency is reported from your *** man use "I expect a win" or if it's certain individuals "Expect a performance"

thanks for the reply guys sorry haven't replied was at work.
gonna give the suggestions a try and get back to you.

having tried the tactics suggested i can sadly say that it was to no avail. i still concede too many goals. i manage to get a fair ammount of shots but my strikers cant seem to put the ball in the net.
i tried changing player roles but am coming to a problem. what roles would you guys suggest i try?

Change your tactics, often in the game you will start well, then start to get draws then start losing, when you start to get the run of draws it's time to totally change your tactics as the game has adapted.

I'd recommend ditching the offside trap, dangerous tactic IMO. If your going to play direct have you got a target man to hold the ball up? In your centre midfield you need 2 of them players defending one being the passer simple passes getting it to your creator the attacking mid, you have 2 strikers so attacking mid should be there to create more than any thing. Both strikers there to score.
So change your passing style from direct as your team will just lump the ball forward to often and try to control the game more, that's what I'd do.

generally i seem to concede goals really early into the match or around mid way through the second half. im only managing on average 9 shots per match of them only 4-5 are on target. would changing my formation help?

i'm pleased to report that after following some of the suggestions and altering my tactics and player roles im having better results. im still managing to concede too many goals but my last couple of matches have been wins. i managed a 3-2 result agains man city so im quite happy.

Also try not using fluid try balanced or rigid better all round flow to the team, to much freedom will lead to players over riding your team and player instructions. Assign freedom individually. The main players you want having freedom is maybe one of your strikers and your creating attacking mid, no more than 3 players in a team IMO. Other than that you want your team to know there job and do that with out having freedom to do what ever they like.
