player contract renewal blocked despite everyone wanting it to go through??

Hey,
My goalkeeper wants a new contract and I want to give it to him but whenever I try and give him one, it won't let me - I get the 'my client isn't interested...' rubbish and everythings all in red!!
Help please!

Have you tried to go into negotiations with the player before and, if so, how long ago?

not in a little while ... I did try before he complained but got the same message. Is it worth seeing if i have a save far back enough to get a renewal?

as in not for a while before 'a couple ago' and 'a couple of weeks ago' I got the same message..

Luis Guilherme into my 2nd season in this saved game and I've got him in League 2, had him last season and got promoted by miles and the plan is long term working up to premier league asap so its kindda counter productive if he leaves for a 'higher' team!
And no my oldest save is only a few weeks and it still comes up red :/ ... at least hes not threatening to leave etc yet! since its just a better contract he wants..

Ah, that sucks. Maybe praise him a lot and see if his morale goes up. How far into the season are you?

No worries, I've just gotten into october, when I mentioned the problem I think I was in early september but still no change in the agent letting me make a new deal, he asked to leave a 'week' ago and I pursuaded him to be paitent, I'm wondering if its a glitch since it makes no logical sence... I've found a 17 year old goal keeper with the potential of Buffon theoretically 'Laurentiu Branescu' but Guilherme should become amazing and is already 'in with' the squad - harmony is at the top end of 'very good' which i don't want to spoil...
I'll keep praising him and see what happens..

Yeah, it's more logical to attempt to keep him and see the progress he makes. If he doesn't renew his deal by December, I'd try and sell him if I was you because come January, he might be signed by a foreign club for free in July (which would suck). I think some things are a bit glitchy in the game, I agree.

I wonder if theres a way I can make the agent like you or somthing, I've heard suggestions that its up to the agent as much... otherwise I'm going to hope I can get a VERY nice fee for him :/
