All football fans, sign the petition requesting for the Government to withdraw its appeal over the Information Commissioner's request for the Government to release all secret documents it has regarding the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster.

Full government disclosure and publication of all documents, discussions and reports relating to the 1989 Hillsborough disater. *As requested by information commissioner Christopher Graham*

This is more than football, this is about getting justice and closure for the families and friends of those who died. Still 22 years later, they do not have the definitive answer.

Justice must be done.

JFT96.

SIGN THE PETITION HERE

Nearly 57,000 signatures. 43,000 more needed for it to be a topic of discussion in Parliament.
Liverpool fan or not, this is more important than football.

Wasn't the definitive answer bad policing mixed with awful stadium design/construction?

That's the public conception. The Government and police failed to acknowledge themselves as the ones to blame. The Government have kept secret documents from public viewing. If they incriminated fans they would have been released years ago.

The Information Commissioner has requested they're released and the Government is trying to stop this.

Thought I'd bump this. Hillsborough petition hits enough signatures to trigger Commons debate. Had a feeling it would. It's about time they listened. For once, just do the right thing.

I signed it (And took the time to click it on my Email so my signature counted).

But I'm not entirely sure what this sets out to achieve, releasing government files that will what?

Confirm the facts that we all know that the policing was bad and stadium construction was awful?

I get that government files will be released and it will say the policing at Hillsbrough was bad but...We all know that, don't we?

I can't quite understand what this accomplishes, anyone who knows please let me know.

Is this a crusade to certify the government's stance, and to definitively say that it was officially a 'policing **** up'?

i think the aim is to change how hilsborough is thought of by the public. when i was about 10 i just thought that all the scousers jibbed in without tickets resulting in there being a mega crush that killed people. Many people probably still have that opinion when in reality its more complicated than that.
