Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says his team need to be more clinical in front of goal, despite beating Wigan 3-0.

You're trashing teams by scorelines of more than 3-0 and you still find room for improvement? oO)

mancini has lost plot city have been quality start of this season but the mighty reds showing them how its really done!;)

he does have a point really, we were very wasteful in front of goal, despite scoring three...

If City can win PL with Mancini in charge... that would be too much xD Only if Man Utd or Chelsea are sleeping, mostly Man Utd, City has the best GROUP of players, but not the best team..Different things.

It's fair enough to expect better. Man Utd beat Bolton 5-0 so why shouldn't Mancini expect the same against a weaker team like Wigan. Also got to make sure the massive egos at city don't become complacent

26 shots, 7 on target (inc goals), 5 blocked, 14 off target.

He has a point.

Yes you are berating him for asking more out of his team when they were clear favourites, but he does have ground in this. I am not trying to gloat the results but, Manchester United won 8-2 and 5-0 respectively, whilst his team won 5-1 and 3-0. Given that the 8-2 result was not of the norm, Mancini, I'd assume, would have wanted the same sort of result that United got at Bolton - especially when playing at home.

Some of the missed chances, i.e. Richards' shot that crashed off the underside of the bar and Tevez's penalty miss, is perhaps what he was talking about. The clean-cut finishing and ruthlessness infront of goal.

Nothing wrong with trying to make his team go up even more gears. He has a team of superstars that he is trying to turn into a well-linked high chemistry team. He's setting them the challenge to do even better. They missed chances in this game, he wants to cut that out.. hardly anything wrong with that.

The competition for places will mean that anyone can be dropped which means the players have to perform week in week out. This I believe will give City that extra edge that will win them the title. Putting my cards on the table I know but I just think they will. It's up to United and Chelsea to prove me wrong and I reckon United will. Whenever City win well, United just seem to win better. Mancini obviously believes challenging his players will make them perform better, will interesting to see how that turns out.

He's got a point, City are already 3 goals behind United

it all comes down to the freshness. I can see SAF buying a player in jan if needed

City for the Title, possible.

but i see what Mancini is saying. could there next scoreline be with 8 goals, then there shots on Target should improve.
