From playing the game I've been noticing that the most exciting midfielders with high creativity are always natural AMC.

However I'm thinking about playing a 4-2-2-2 (2 CM's, 2 advanced wingers and 2 forwards) and was wondering if I should retrain the playmaking AMC like Ganso into the CM role. Will retraining affect their PA?

Before this I was playing a 4-1-3-2 with 1 CM and one AMC. The AMC was set as the playmaker however I found out most of my wingers were doing the assists and the AMC wasn't that effective. I hypothesized that making the AMC on the same line the wingers basically negated their playmaking role as they weren't feeding the ball forward.

Should I retrain the AMC to a CM or try and keep the AMC?

Thoughts and personal experience?

This is my opinion only. I believe that to make an effective AMC, the tactic need to be a narrow 442 diamond formation. Which is why i didn't use the tactic as i like to play wide with wingers. And if i do have a natural AMC in my default squad, i will retrain him, depends on what his best attributes are..

With 442 diamond, the AMC can be set to playmaker so that he will link the midfield and the attackers by providing key passes. By using wingers, AMC need to be someone who can run from deep and have good finishing attributes (composure n so on).So mostly he is not effective in being a playmaker since most play will come from fullback connecting to the wingers who then provide through balls or cut inside.

Love to know what other feels..

Enlightening stuff izzice. Searching through I've also found other players have had difficulties with AMC performing well.

It wouldn't be much of a problem if there was more CM talent but all the talent seemed to trained as AMC and I'm concerned that by retraining the AMC would ruin their PA.
