It was a bright Summer's day.Perfect day for football. But unfortunately it was the close season.I had just had a spectacular season at Whitley Bay helping the manager win the FA Vase 3-2 in the final.I was assistant manager there and I being the youngest staff member celebrated wildly.Ending up with the biggest hangover ever the following morning. It was strange judging I was told I would hardly be able to walk again just 9 years ago.......

It was one of the coldest days of the year and my side Everton U18s were facing Port Vale in the FA Youth Cup.Wayne Rooney wasn't playing and neither was Symes so I stepped up to the plate.Port Vale had it in for me right from the start and the worst moment of my career came just 42 minutes into the match."And the Norwegian Gunnarsonn has broken free! They won't catch him"... they did Vales' hardest player wrapping both his legs around my right as I prepared for the shot twisting until he heard the crunch. The medics ran on the field and stretchered me off my career in ruins.New Everton first team manager David Moyes patted me on the back as I went down the tunnel.
