Gunning Down The World – An Arsenal Story.

Arsenal football club is one of the most successful football team in Britain, it has won 10 First Division and Premier League titles and 10 F.A Cups.
Arsenal Football Club is the only team who has completed a Premier League season unbeaten!
Arsenal have not won a trophy since 2005.

Arsène Wenger today revealed publically that he quits the managerial post at the Emirates Stadium.
Wenger “I quit the job, not because I wasn’t doing well, but I am now 61, I think I need to spend time with my family, I wish Arsenal and all the players good luck.”

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood was unable to sign a new manager for his team, negotiations broke down with Jurgen Klopp and Louis Van Gaal.

Peter Hill-Wood was left with no other option but to give caretaker manager Antonio Mancini a part-time contract which finished at the end of 2011/12 season.

Antonio Mancini, half Italian, half British manager has been given the managerial position at Arsenal Football Club.

Antonio said he is very close with the whole team at Arsenal and can not wait to get stuck in.

Antonio Mancini's first Press conference will be held tomorrow at the Emirates Stadium.

Thank you both, I'll be updating soon, constructive criticism is much appreciated!

Good luck with your Arsenal story. :) It will be a challenge this year, especially without Nasri and Fabregas, as well as the threat of Tottenham and Man City amongst the usual lot.

The Press Conference

I was walked into the press room at emirates, I was walked over by the press officer, 2 security guards and the chairman Peter Hill-Wood, I laughed whilst being walked over by the security, the security was so high as if I or Peter were going to get assassinated.

SkySports Reporter; You sit here before me as the Arsenal manager, how does it feel?

Its amazing, a dream come true, I cannot wait for the season to kick off.

BBCSports Reporter; Your here as a replacement for the loved Arsene, do you think you can bring any silverware to the Emirates Stadium?

Arsene is an amazing manager, but I think his approach to the game wasn't good enough to win trophies, I, myself am looking at Fast ,Attacking football to provide entertainment for the supporters and win trophies.

Setanta Sports Reporter; With the departure of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas, who are you looking to bring into your squad?

I have a few players I'm looking to bring in, the board have agreed to give me an outstanding amount of money, with £53m I'm looking to bring in 2 Midfielders, 1 winger, a poacher, and some youngsters

SkySports Reporter; Is there any one in particular?

Sorry, I wouldn't like to discuss transfer targets.

BBCSports Reporter; Mr Mancini, who do you think will win the league this year?

Arsenal Football. That concludes the meeting for today, goodbye.

After The Press Conference

After the conference, I ran into my office and called up some teams.

I picked up the phone and called Olympique De Marseille manager Didier Deschamps, I explained to him my interest in Andre Ayew but he couldn't understand a word I was saying, I called in Giles Grimandi, my French speaking scout and I told him to explain to him my interest in Andre Ayew and I will match his minimum fee release clause of £11,25m.

The offer was of course accepted but I had to ensure the manager and ask him to send Andre down to London as soon as possible so we can come to an agreement on a decent contract for him.

Straight after the Olympique De Marseille call, I called up Porto manager, Vitor Pereira and asked him the price for both Joao Moutinho and Hulk.

"Errrmm izz no for sale, he replied with a rough accent."

"Listen Pereira, Im willing to pay £30m, for the pair, £15m each."

"Noo, nooo, nooo £16,75m for Joao and £30m for Hulk."

"Vitor, I'll do £16,75m for Joao and £24m for hulk, last offer, take it or leave it."

"Ohhk, I will, ask Joao and Hulk what they think!"

-----------

The contract Negotiations hadn't started yet, but I was over the moon!

I knew Andre, Joao were extremely interested in signing, but Hulk I had some doubts in, Chelsea and Manchester United were after Hulk too, I knew I had to wrap up the negotiations ASAP before another team came in an took em away!

The First 3 Signings

---------

I called both Moutinho and Andre to London to complete the transfers and come to an agreement on their contracts.

Moutinho had a very stubborn agent and wouldn't come to an agreement unless I did as he said, but I could see right through him, he was playing a brave game, he said he wanted a £75,000 p/w with a £5,250 appearance fee,£1,300 Goal bonus and a Team of the year bonus of £275,00, up until 30/06/16.

I looked his agent Mr Lopes right into the eye and said.

Look lopes, Joao is on a contract £17,000 p/w at porto, it is abit too much coming here and asking for £75,000, I'm ok with the bonuses but I'm offering a wage of £40,000 p/w, take it or leave it Mr Lopes.

Me and my client think that is a very acceptable offer, and we agree, and Moutinho would be an Arsenal player in no time.

-------

It struck 15:00pm and my meeting with Andre was at 17:00pm, I called Dinamo boss, Krunoslav Jurcic, he didn't speak English, but luckily, he spoke the basic Italian.

I said to him in Italian, Jurcic, I want Sime Vrsaljko on a transfer fee of £5m.

In Italian he replied, Antonio(the Italians loved calling me by my first name.) Everton have offered me £6m, but since Arsenal are the better club and good with youth, and I only want the best for Sime, I accept the offer, Sime is in Merseyside, in negotiations with Everton, he can make it to Emirates at 18:00pm.

Sure Jurcic, its great doing business with a man like yourself!

------

17:00pm

Andre was brought into my office and was delighted to be at the Emirates, I told him to take a seat politely, he sat down and I asked him where his agent was.

Looking at me very embarrassed, Eyyy me and Rolland had gotten into an argument at the Marseille Airport because hee, hee say that a move to England would not be ideal for me.

Oh Andre I can assure you will settle at Emirates wonderfully, take a look at all the other French players here, look at Thierry, he settled magnificently here at Arsenal and created a worldwide reputation for himself.

Ehhh yess, I see myself here at Arsenal too.

So Andre here's the contract I have planned for you(taking advantage of his agent not being here.) Andre I am offering you a £48,000 p/w and £5,000 appearance fee, £5,000 goal fee, ending in 30/06/15, what do you think Andre?

These is a great offer, I will move to Arsenal within the next week.

----------

After the Andre deal was completed I went to the Lunch hall, whilst I was eating, I received a from an unknown number, I picked up and a man with a solid Eastern European accent said,

Mr Mancini, it is Josip Bozinovic, Sime Vrsaljko's agent, we are unable to make it to London today, and I was told you want to negotiate a contract deal with Myself and Sime, we discussed this in great detail and we both agree on a contract deal containing a wage of £10,00o p/w, along with an appearance fee of £5,000 and Goal bonus 0f £275, ending in 30/06/16.

Done deal Mr Josip

Sime will arrive at Emirates as soon as we have got the Work Permit.

-------------

It was official, my first signings at Arsenal were all successful, spending a total of £33m

Pre-Season

This pre-season was a disgrace, seeing my team lose to my own reserves was a kick in the balls, I talked it over with my experienced assistant, and he told me, its pre-season, obviously we want to win, but it is not that important, pre-season is only there to get the players prepared for the season.

I was shocked that we lost to the reserves, but this just proved to me how good the youth players are at Arsenal, I was particularly impressed with Sanchez Watt and Chus Aneke, scoring 3 goals among the pair.

------

We then had Benfica at home, fortunately we drew, I had several senior players injured and wasn't prepared to risk anymore, I played youngsters with good potential and hoped for the best, the final score was 2-2, with Theo showing his great pace, running past the defenders like they weren't there, and managing to score both of our goals, Javi Garcia and Javier Saviola got Benfica's goals.

---------

The next week we had to fly over to Germany, to play Wehen, I had no clue who they were, I underestimated them and played my youths again, we was 1-0 down at half time and I was absolutely furious, my half time team talk was aggressive, but motivated the lads.

Come on Lads! What on earth is this!? Pre-season or not, we should be winning these matches!

The lads looked motivated, goalscorers Chu Young and Afobe were really fired up and, after the match I took the lads to a German restaurant called Splinder & Klatt.

I thought the young lads deserved a treat after the resilience they showed, winning the match 3-1 with a youth squad was brilliant.

I advised the players not to drink, but of course experienced, and alcoholic Tomas Rosicky couldn't help but too drink so much he wasn't able to walk.

I wouldn't allow players under the age of 18 to drink, and they were not too pleased with that.

--------

We were in Germany for our next game too.

This one wasn't a pretty one, playing RB Leipzig, a team in Regional Division North.

I played my third squad in this match

Szczesny
Ramsey-------------Koscielny-----------Djourou---------------Santos

Moutinho------------------Frimpong

Arteta-----------------------------------------------------Benayoun
Chamakh----------Ansah

The final score was 1-0 to RB Leipzig, Daniel Frahn scored for RB Liepzig.

--------------

Three days later, we had to travel to Frankfurt, to play FSV Frankfurt, second division German team.

I played my third team again with a tweak upfront, with Van Persie injured, I had to use my Chamakh and youngsters.

Another dreadful match to watch, although we won, I wasn't happy.

Final Score: FSV Frankfurt 2 - 3 Arsenal
Schlicke scoring both of FSV Frankfurts goals and Miyaichi, Benayoun and Afobe scoring ours.

-----------------

We flew back over to Britain where we rested back at home for a few days, and I was able to speak to Hulk and see what him and his agent wanted.

I invited Hulk and his agent Marcio Roberto de Freitas.

Hulk was keen to sign for a London team, so it was either us, or Chelsea who was gonna sign him.

His agent was clear, and unlike Moutinho's agent, he was serious, he had already printed out a contract of what he and Hulk wanted, he put the contract on my desk and said, Mr Mancini, that's the deal, take it or leave it.

On the the contract was clearly written £68,000 p/w £40,000 appearance and goal fee, £675,000 team of the year bonus, ending 30/06/16

I signed the contract and my 4th signing was the most expensive one so far £24m.

------------

I played my first choice players for the first time in the match away at Walsall, the team looked unbeatable from kick-off, the final score in the match was 4-0 with Gervinho and Van Persie grabbing two goals each.

-------------
Before our last two games, Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala expressed their interest in Laurent Koscielny and we agreed to a fee of £5.75m. Koscielny will depart from the Emirates in August, when the Russian transfer window is open.

Malaga, spanish club who have been bought by Abdullah Al-Thani, Qatari multi-billionaire offered £1.5m for our 4th keeper Vito Mannone. I agreed, and Mannone was officially a Malaga keeper.

Almunia and Arshavin were not getting any younger, so I transfer listed them both and Real Madrid matched the asking price of £1.7m for Almunia. The third player to depart us this season.

Rich French side P.S.G called in to offer £10m for Arshavin, Arshavin wanted to leave and join the Frech club and we were £19m richer!

--------------
For our last two friendlies we had to fly over to Spain to play Colarado and Malaga.

Playing my first team against Colarado we managed to thrash them with an outstanding 9-0 victory with Walcott, Ayew, Rosicky, grabbing a goal each and the strikers Chamakh and Van Persie netting 3 goals each!.

I was over the moon with this result, I was delighted to see the team playing so well!

We played Malaga and showed them what British football was about, Speed, Strength and luck.

New signing Ayew looked like he was gelling in well with the team, a grabbed his second of the Pre-season with a wonderful screamer.

New boy Hulk bagged his first hat-trick for Arsenal, I was delighted, although it was a friendly, it showed what he's capable of.

Gibbs got our final goal, and Santi Carloza got 2 goals for Malaga and Ruud got his typical tap-in goal!

---------------
Using my Italian side once more.

Using my Italian side once again I managed to come to an agreement with Marco Verratti, Lorenzo Crisetig, they would both fly to London on the 20th of August to seal the deal

August Review

View attachment 212297

I asked all the lads to attend the first team meeting of the year, I was gutted to see the squad so switched off!

I started off the meeting by telling the boys they have what it takes and that this year was the year for them, I told the squad this is the year where we'll do a treble and explained to them my high expectations.

The squad switched off immediately and players started moaning about how they don't think they have what it takes to win the Champions League and they cannot defeat teams like Manchester United, or Spanish giants Barcelona or Madrid.

I was annoyed, the team had no confidence what so ever!

Wheres the passion lads!? I yelled

Heads dropped lower.

Robin, your the captain what do you think!?

Coach, I, myself don't believe that we can win the Champions League or the Premier League, it will take some great amount of luck for us to win those titles!

Come on lads! Of course we won't get anywhere with that kind of attitude!

Does anyone in this room believe we can do a treble this year!?

Brazilian star Hulk said, I believe we can do!

Well at least there's one person who agrees with me, Pat have you got anything to add?

Yes, listen boys, we've been unlucky in the past years, we've got a great staff behind you, pushing you that extra mile to help you improve and become better individuals and work better as a team, we've got the players and we know have the staff too!

Ok, this meeting didn't go the way I planned it! Boro, Gerry, Tony and Pat, you take the lads for a training session today, I want you to work on Defending, Passing and Finishing, Ok!?

Right Coach! Pat replied and took the boys out of the changing room!

I sat down and I said F**K, this is gonna be a bad couple of months, unless these boys gain some confidence!

I looked at the team sheet for the Newcastle game
, we were in desperate need of another striker, Pat had recommended Giuseppe Rossi but his style of football was too familiar with Van Persie, I looked at the other strikers recommended by Pat and I was amazed by young brazilian striker Leandro Damiao, I emailed SC Internacional manager Dorival Junior, and told him I am willing to pay any price for the youngster and I wrote down my phone number for him to contact me.

-------
Newcastle vs Arsenal

From kick-off all the way to the final whistle, we just never looked like winning, the strikers had poor finishing, the defenders couldn't keep up with the Newcastle attackers, I thought, I give up.

Although we managed to get the first goal of the game, you could just tell Newcastle were the stronger side in this match, Alex Song managed to score with a nice header to get our goal, but just after half time Szczesny put the ball into his own net to make it 1-1.

In the last 15 minutes Clinical striker Demba Ba scored to make it 2-1 Newcastle, we was sent home defeated, and the players confidence and morale dropped lower.

--------

Dinamo Kiev vs Arsenal

Another blow for the squad as we were defeated by Ukrainian side Dinamo Kiev, again we was the weaker side and we didn't look like wanted to win.

Milevskyi grabbed two goals for the Ukrainian side and Belghazouani scored just before half time to make it 3-0 Dinamo Kiev.

The players walked into the changing room with their heads down, I looked each and every single one in the eyes and said, Look boys, we've been unlucky, luck has been against us, the refs a C*NT and we should of had that goal, it wasn't offside, we should of had that pen too!

But what i'm trying to say here lads is that, lucks been against us, if we take more shots on goal and keep them knocking, we'll get three or four goals, now I don't know about yourselves but I believe in you and I know you can do it!

With the inspirational half time team talk, the boys managed to grab two goals, we was defeated but hey we had two away goals.

Vermaelen scored a header and Chamakh got out second.

I was pleased with the result and we had to beat Dinamo at home to qualify for Champions League.

--------------

Leandro Damiao to Arsenal!

View attachment 212299

Twenty-Two year old Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao was my 7th signing and I was pleased with it.

He was a magnificent striker and SC Internacional were not going to let him go for any cheaper than £40m.

After a few days of negotiations with the Brazilain side, we came to an agreement of £38m.

Damiao was keen to sign for the British side and contract negotiations was not a problem, Damiao's agent asked for £100,000 p/w but I said the most I'll do for him is £81,000.

We both agreed and Damiao was able to fly to England and play his first game this Saturday against Wolves.

------------

Arsenal vs Wolves

New signing Leandro Damiao proved the fans wrong that he wasn't a flop by scoring two goals on his debut.

Damiao's hard work was brought down by the rest of the squad managing to concede to goals and wolves held us to a draw.

-------------------

Arsenal vs Dinamo Kiev

In the second leg arsenal bullied Dinamo through out the game, we was first to the ball, we won every single header and managed to thrash them 5-3.

Mertesacker grabbed our first goal from a corner which was wonderfully whipped in by Van Persie.

Moutinho managed to get his first goal for us from out side the box.

Chamakh, Vermaelen and Van Persie got our other three goals and Ideye got Dinamo's only goal.

---------------

Manchester City
vs Arsenal

The game was close from kick off, it was a very physical game with both Srna and Vermaelen getting sent off because of a fight on the pitch, Vermaelen was fined a weeks wages and Srna was handed a further 1 match ban.

Brazilian wonderkid Leandro Damiao grabbed our only goal to win us the game.

-------------

August was an ok month for both me and the squad, lets just hope September is a better month!

I was interested, but you just bought a pile of well known world class players, lost all interest.

I have set a target for myself of winning league cup, fa cup, champions league and the prem, theres no way I could possibly win it with the likes of Park Chu Young and Andre Santos being first team players -__-

Haha, never mind him! Gotta be honest - Just installed fm12, and this story has made me think of doing an Arsenal save, because really when you think about it there falling from the great threat they once was - so would be good to try and bring them back as the dominating team they once was.

Haha, Its really fun because Arsenals facilities are world class, players wont stop improving!

BTW I've got the septmeber update prepared, does anyone want me to update it now?

September Review

View attachment 212331

Everton vs Arsenal

Our first game in September was against Everton.

Everton challenged us, but we was the better team, we managed to beat David Moyes’ team 3-1.

Hulk grabbed our first goal scoring a screamer from 25 yards out, chamakh showed how clinical he is by picking up on a mistake Everton defenders made.

Mertesacker grabbed our final goal and Drenthe scored in extra time to make it 3-1.

Andre Ayew got sent off for arguing with the ref and was handed a one match ban and was fined one weeks wages!

-------

Napoli vs Arsenal

We was away at Napoli, one of the most dangerous areas in the whole of Italy, I was ******** myself, I was worried a group of thugs would bomb or shoot the coach on our way to the game, knowing the Italian thugs, this would be something they'd do gladly.

We was out classed by Napoli and lost the game 2-1, Hamsik and Campagnaro got Napoli’s goals and Chamakh got our only goal.

The team got back to England safe but unfortunately some fans were stabbed.

To show respect Arsenal held a minute silence in their next game.

-------

Fulham vs Arsenal

Fulham showed they weren't no pushovers and beat us 4-0.

Dempsey, Murphy got a goal each and Ruiz got two goals.

I was gutted by the result, I couldn't let heads drop and had to play a strong side against Portsmouth to boost confidence and morale.

---------

Arsenal vs Portsmouth

We dominated the game from the beginning with chamakh scoring 4 fabulous goals which proved to me he wants to stay at Emirates this season and is willing to give his 100% every game.

Gervinho the first choice winger grabbed a goal and talented midfielder Moutinho netted one goal too.

Ex-Arsenal striker Kanu got Portsmouths only goal.

-------

Arsenal vs Wigan

Leandro Damiao clearly gelled in well and was a great partnership with Hulk.

Damiao got his first hat-trick at the club and Hulk netted one and assisted two.

Arshavin got our final goal.

----------

Arsenal vs Ajax

Hulk tapped in a Van Persie free-kick and in no time Ajax defender Neretljak climbed higher than everyone and directed a beautiful corner home.

Hulk made a magnificent run and smashed it in the top right corner.

Hulk gives a wonderful ball over the top for Chamakh to run onto and place it in the bottom right corner.

At half time I decided to sub Mikel Arteta and bring Moutinho on instead, Moutinho made an instant impact on the game scoring from outside the box to make it 4-1 and then shortly after scoring a free-kick to make it 5-1

------

Another ok month but the players are finally showing improvement on their attitudes, and their confidence seem to have gotten better.

Brazilian youngster Leandro Damiao impressed me most this month showing me his hunger for goals and bagging a good hat-trick, looking at him play you can tell he is consistent and there is definitely more goals to come from him!

I've stepped the training schedules up a bit to get the lads working harder and for them to prove they deserve a spot in the team, because no players spot is saved!

I have set a target for myself of winning league cup, fa cup, champions league and the prem, theres no way I could possibly win it with the likes of Park Chu Young and Andre Santos being first team players -__-

So do something different, find players that are not as overly promoted, or you can just buy perhaps the best available players, its boring, in my opinion, and its just an opinion, theres no point doing these stories if you're just gonna bank roll a super team of sorts.

Just a little grammar tip , it's nothing big , but it can annoy some people and make them stop reading. When your talking about a team our a group like you say " We was " , it should be " We were ". Just a little bit of advice , i had the same thing in my story and it helped get readers more interested. I'm liking the story so far!

Ok mate, so your suggesting I buy less known players who would do the job?
& you gotta understand these signings in the first year because Arsenal are a mess in the beginning of the game.

I could win the league and a cup with the arsenal squad at the beginning of the season. Yes, Arsenal do not have the greatest opening team, but you could play Walcott left, Van Persie right and Chamakh down the middle with Gervinho to cover both sides, then you could use Wilshere /Diaby / Song as a compact distributing machine, with the usual defense. Instead you buy world class players, its not interesting at all.
