Player missing from Senior squad

Hi all - seem to have a problem of getting my 1st choice right winger from appearing in my senior squad. He's definitely still my player, under contract for a few years & he always appears as my player in the search box when I enter his name. However, when I get to a game I try to select him & he's literally missing.

I try placing him in the reserves as a solution & he appears there ok, but then obviously select him to be back in the senior squad & he disappears again. This is something I've never experienced before in the years I've been playing FM2012 & although he's a 1st team player I may just have to sell him seeing as I can't select him.

I know this is a bit old, but i have almost the exact same problem. Only for me it is when i put players in U23 team (with Bayern). Then they just disapeare. I can find them with search, but i just cannot see them in lists. It is almost a game breaker since you can't select them and all. Does anyone have the solution?
