Pompey debts revealed

makes me think Bates isn't completely awful. feel sorry for Pompy fans. Such great support, they don't deserve this

This club has been run poorly for years. Not pinning the blame totally on him because it isen't but ever since Redknapp took over for the first time and took them up. They signed made sure they stayed up by signing PremierLeague players but on very high PremierLeague wages. The like sof Sherringham, Berger, Yakubu, Stone etc etc etc. Living in Portsmouth i get to see the reaction from fans all the time and most of their grudge is against the FA. Understandably the FA is not only an easy target but they are one of the right targets for obviously not running their so called "fit and proper test" properly. I though think the blame lies with the FA, Redknapp and his cronies and the board then and now. I have said why the FA need to take some of the blame but Redknapp because of the players he wanted/demanded on very high wages and the board for giving players such as Kitson (who is the worst player i have seen play in any league so far this season) and Kanu (kept because of his cup final goal not on performances) very high wages for very long contracts.

My last thing on this is fans need to be educated and told that it isen't just the FA's fault. As this fan knew when he had a go at then Cheif Exec Peter Storrie who was known for being on a very high wage himself.

Very very last thing, the man having a go at Storrie in that clip is my captain. Yes i manage a football team and he is my choice of captain and yes he has been sent off this season.......twice!!!!!!

Well, under £50 million is bad, but it's not terrible. It's nowhere near as bad as last time Pompey nearly went under. I mean, they owe less than one Fernando Torres.

Can have him if they want!!!!!

Tempted to manage them on FM12 now and see can I save them...

Not bad for a Premier League club, no.. But for a mid-table Championship side with a tiny, ageing squad, a crumbling stadium, and very few other assets to speak of then actually yeah, this is terrible..

As I said, in comparison to the last time they faced a winding-up order, then it is nowhere near as bad.

This is the sort of stuff I wanna see on FM. ):

The Tax isn't, but they still have huge debt. At least before most of the debt was to previous owners and other clubs, a tad easier to negotiate with.

Just rediculous. Feel sorry for Lawrence, he's a good footballer, deserves better. Although, I'm sure he can get it on the NHS. :)

Back in administration.

I didn't think it was possible for a football club to jump from one crisis to another to another to another like this. Some clubs have cheated the system but this is beyond belief now.

Sadly, someone else will come along, get them on the cheap. Others will lose money and they'll carry on.

For a start I'd stop the 10 point deduction lark. When a club goes into admin they should be forced to play the following season one division lower. That would have meant them being in League One last season rather than the Championship.

Whilst people are fighting to save a club like Darlington we have this lot time and time again running up debts into the millions.

They've hardly cheated the system.

Pompey have decided to ignore taxes for the last two months and continue spending.

By not paying tax and continuing to pay wages and sign players on loan or sign Kelvin Etuhu, they are having a competitive advantage over all other Championship clubs that are paying their taxes.

They havent been paying wages. They havent been able to pay anyone, including the electricity bill

Even more evidence they are cheating the system then.

Still managing to operate as a football club without any of the costs and only a pending 10 point deduction to show for it.

Odious club.

Portsmouth FC have been given permission to go into administration. HMRC have said that Pompey maybe docked 20 points for going into Admin twice. Ouch!

Pompey want to re-appoint Andrew Andronikou, but HMRC would prefer it to be Trevor Birch. It's also emerged that Portin, the company owned by Balram Chainrai, has £500,000 on standby, to help Pompey in the short term. BUT they would only use that money if Andrew Andronikou was appointed. The judge has proposed that UHY (Andronikou) and PKF (Birch) could both be appointed. HMRC say Mr Birch doesn't want to work with Andronikou.

This is going to get messy-how are things meant to get sorted when people don't want to work with somebody else? On the plus side, the Judge has said it is "Patently optomistic" the club will not go into liquidation.

What a load of nonsense. what about all the unpaid players and staff? All the unpaid non footballing staff. Cheating requires they get away with some benefit. They dont, as they're about to get cut off from power (thus no games), players are getting ready to strike and leave, people are leaving, a 10 point pen will actually lose them more money as they will very likely get relegated.

But dont let facts get in the way
