I'm finding it tough at figuring out the right formula for wide play, narrow short passing is easy to master but has anyone got tips on its counterpart?

I get that you have to play wider and play more direct football, preferably with a good target man to aim at and have wide men set as wingers.. but other than that I'm a bit unsure

I can give a few tips for them separately but so far haven't been able to master wide and direct play together. For direct I would agree with the target man, although a poacher works almost as well. Also, if you set a counter strategy then as soon as your defense has the ball they will often do long balls up to any strikers you've left up there, which can set up a lot of good breaks and goals. I also play a lot of wide play, but I find it usually works better if I get the defense to give it short to a play-maker in midfield, who can then give it wide to a fast winger who'll do the rest before getting the cross in to hopefully set up a goal.

I find advanced forward and a poacher works well, rapid wingers and good defensive midfielders I.e. those who can create as well as defend. Make your wingers have excellent crossing n decisions. Nani annoys me wen I counter attack as he is so greedy
