can you change player roles?

Is it possible to to change the role which your assistant reccomends? Eg My assistant reccomend Rooney as a target man, is there anything that I can ask him to do in training which will change him to a DLF or Ap ect???

just use rooney as a CF AP or poacher

was just using rooney as a example, just somtimes a regen comes through and your assistant says hes best asTM buts heel have bad heading and be weak but heel have pace off ball ect and the attributes of a poacher?
