Recently just got back on fm and saw my only working save was a man utd one I started along time ago (and cheated-I know shouldn't of done- I cheated to sign modric hazard gotze for free )
I'm coming up to January with a good start to the season, in which I'm unbeaten in the pl with only a couple of draws ,and through in cl and lc . I know I'm looking just ahead to the future as I'm very secure in the short term.
I have an immediate budget of about 15 I think and I'm looking to bring in at least a handful of youngsters that will mature into potential key members. (don't know how much I'll get at end of season)
I also don't want to break the bank wage wise wich Is one of the reasons I shipped out Owen and berbatov

So my squad is this

De gea lindergaard
jones smalling Evans vertohogen Ferdinand vidic rafael evra fabio
giggs cleverly modric gotze hazard carrick fletcher nani young Valencia
hernandez welbeck Rooney rossi

My actions this season is
out berbatov park Anderson owen(released) kuzschack
In hazard gotze modric (cheat) vertohogen 6mil Rossi (board for 35mil did eat into budget as at that time had 0)

Future actions I'm planning is let giggs go at end of season and Ferdinand free at end of contract and sell a lot of the meh youngsters
so what I need to know is who to bring in and how much roughly I should be paying to bring long term replacements

Joel valencia and Niang? Are coming at start of January

Also I'm thinking of selling nani young carrick at end of the season but not sure if it's worth it from a financial point of view and who to replace

Ive got a big scouting team all with at least 17 pp and at least 35 overal pa +pp

Also got all coaches 4 star plus and all bar youth attacking (at 4 star) at 4 and a half or higher

Sorry for the long post as I'm asking a lot haha

i have to say im generally against cheating in games to buy the best players- you're already managing manchester united! but then i spose there's city's spending power to compete with. niang is a great buy for the long-term. id also reccommend eric torres- im planning on a united save soon but did one a few months ago. i played:

GK- de Gea
Def- Smalling, Vidic, Jones, Evra
DM- Fletcher
Adv Ply- Anderson
Wide- Valencia (winger), Nani (Ins Forw)
Up front- rooney (dlf), Berbatov (treq)

That as the 1st team for the first half of the season, which got me like 50 points by christmas. I could rest the team by playing this team in Champions League group stage and carling cup matches:

Gk- lindegaard
Def- Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Fabio
dlp- carrick
adv ply- cleverley
Wide- Park (Def wgr), Young (Ins Forw)
Poachers- Niang, Erick Torres

That team got almost maximum points in the Champions League group stages and to the
Carling Cup final.

Im dissapointed I cheated all them months ago (I don't usually ) im not from now on anyway

I was looking at erick Torres and have been trying to unsettle him but at the moment theyre asking for 10mil+ and I'm trying to get that down

Yeah he's a must buy- id gamble on him in some midweek games that don't matter as much.

I would then have 6 strikers when I sometimes oly play with one 4-2-3-1 would it not hinder development

I also sometimes play with 3 strikers though when playing 4-3-3

Get rid of the older players... ALL of them despite talent level. You will make enough money from sales to fund a new look young team, and Manchester united already have a good amount of youth in their system, Paul Pogba, will hold your midfield from day one, and he develops into an amazing player.

So end of season
Out carrick giggs nani (so in consistent wasteful etc) young
Should I let Ferdinand contract run out next season

Would need replacement for many though

Also forgot to add I'm on a pre update save ;)

I usually try and trim my teams down to very bare minimum, it's never went bad for me. Where do you need improvements in your team? Defence? Midfield? Attack?

I'd get rid of Giggs, Ferdinand, Evra, Park Ji Sung, Dimitar Berbatov, Kuszczak, Carrick, Owen and Lindegaard. That SHOULD bring in about 75 million, with which you can strengthen. Don't release players on frees because you will always be able to find a team to buy your players.

On the wings and Valencia has broken leg and want to offload nani and young and a cm when giggs and carrick go

But mainly just future prospects that can do a job as back up to my core players

Defense is its been a bit leaky of late but been scoring enough goals for it not to matter

Ive got rid of most of the players you suggested to get rid of my squad is that of the one in the op

On the Wings? you said you have Hazard and Gotze. If you have modric he is a CM, so for back up to him, you have Paul Pogba, you could also try and go for Fellaini. If you need a CB try and get Varane from Real Madrid.

Fellini went for arsenal for 21 mil in summer

Hazard gotze will often play on left wing or somewhere through the middle and I like having my squad of 25
