One of the most clinical finishers of the modern era, Ruud was truly a pleasure to watch.

150 goals in 219 appearances for Man Utd, helping Fergusons labouring side through yet another transitional phase as Rooney and Ronaldo were still emerging.

No idea what the music is as i don't have speakers on my work PC.

Absolute legend for Manchester United and I hope he enjoys his well merited retirement.

Alongside Henry & Ronaldo Ruud is my favourite striker from the past decade! One of the true greats of football! A lot people had said he was just a poacher, right place right time, take a look at the goals he scored early on in his career in the Dutch league :)

Thanks Jake, I was looking for those goals!

I still buy him on Fm12 in Jan, even for teams like Dortmund/Tottenham and United, he still scores goals for me!

Absolute legend for us, fantastic player.

One of the best striker of his generation and it was such a shame we sold him for just above 10 Million. One of my favorite player ever and god he knew how to score goals.

Wasted one year when he was injured and we had to wait for one more year but it was worth it. He carried the team when we were in transition and with **** service. His goal scoring record is just superb. 4 seasons he scored 20 plus league goals in 5 seasons. Only other season was when he was injured and he scored 30 plus goals in 3 seasons out of 5.

Edit: Best of it was chant "Rrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuudddddddddddddd" when he scored goals.

It was just ashame he didn't win too much with us, he was one of the best goalscorers of the last decade.

Just another sign that I am getting older. A pity he missed a year through that freak injury and they really don't make players like him anymore.

Absolute legend. True united great was gutted when he left! Hope he enjoys retirment, would make great coach imo:wub:

Great finisher, top top striker.

He's playing in the Soccer Aid charity match this season, should be good to watch.
