Just started a new game and I have the default setting ticked of 'Enable Attribute Masking', what does it mean? And what would it do if I unticked it?

Hi, I was just wondering on this achievement, when you select a team from the league Second Division B, it comes up with an arrow with Second Division B1,B2,B3,B4. Do you have to start from B4? Surely that would take AGES to get all the way from B4 to Liga BBVA? Thanks
