Anelka Tips SPURS to win the League!!!

If his prediction is right and the big teams do all prioritise UCL football, why not?..

I can see his point. He's wrong, of course, they're not favourites, but I can see where it might happen.

I can see Tottenham having another good season mabye even Third but not winning it They will have to spend Big if they want to see that happen

they are a good side but not capible of winning the league. anleka might want to win the champions league but most chelsea players would love to retain the league.

I would think of this again if Redknapp makes his promised "big name signing".

Tottenham are a rising club, with a great squad,a good backroom and a good board of directors, not to mention a manager who could take them to the heights of regular Champions League football.

I doubt they'll win the league this year but they aren't too far off in the distant future.

is Anelka trying to construct a move to Spurs or something?

although a very good season last year, i dont think they will do the same this year, Man City and Liverpool have both strenghtened and i expect either them two sides to pip Spurs to fourth this season

my prediciton is spurs will crash out the champions league in the knockout stages finish 5th-6th in the league not get champions league football and slowly here is where redkanpps past comes into play. it will happen.

XD spurs wont win the league, if spurs where third in the league and had a champions league knockout game there are going to play there best players in the league just like chelsea, arsenal and united. For anelka to say that spurs are favorites is ridiculous, he is just trying to take the pressure of the real favorites (chelsea)

No matter how much I want his "prediction" to be correct, I think that the article is manipulated in some way.

"He added: "Our biggest rivals will of course be Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, while Manchester City could play a major role"

Why weren't Spurs in that list? Typical, a news reporter manipulating the words of a football player, to get more people reading

I highly doubt Anelka said Spurs will win the title - I think his words were just twisted or taken out of context.

It certainly isn't a realistic notion yet.

Your first two points could well happen -- Liverpool and Man City have both strengthened and should do a lot better than last season. Spurs could struggle now that were expected (rather than predicted) to be up there. But, the transfer window hasn't shut yet and we're still to make a move.

Don't understand your Redknapp comment -- if you mean, Spurs will go down the pan because of his spending then you have no idea about how Tottenham are ran. Levy has rules when it comes to transfers and wages -- that's why he wouldn't let Harry buy David James. We're still paying out less than 60% of our annual turnover in wages -- a healthy, sustainable figure.

harry is finally under a chairman who wont give into his ridiculous transfer tendencies, its a good match up

you say that but it is well known that redknapp is a old fashoined manager and likes to do tranfsers and wages his way, he dosent like to be told what is happening he wants to be the one doing it and i cant see spurs saying you can manager this club but you cant do what your used to doing. im pretty sure he wouldnt have taken the job.

To be fair, he has a pretty big ball park in which to bat. If you listened to any of his recent interviews you would have heard him say (on a few occasions) that he'd love to sign such and such, but the club structure wouldn't allow him to offer the wages that others clubs do.

Tottenham is going to have a good year. But they will not win the league..

we shall see thats all i will add.

You talk like you have inside information, yet you don't seem to have a basic understanding of the club's policy. Redknapp is able to sign players well above what he was used too in the past, but he has to work within rules at Spurs.

I go to every Spurs matrch, and I know they have the potential to win the league.

The problem is we have not reachhed that potential. We lose silly games, and frankly, we were really lucky to finish forth. We will be lucky to do that again.

Also, we will concentrate on CL, so we will lose to city, to beat Young Boys of Switzerland.
