KEAN FINALLY GETS THE BOOT

09:12AM

After months of harsh criticism, although some may disagree, the Blackburn Rovers' owners have sacked Steve Kean for failing to keep the club from being relegated to The Championship.

The club have said, they 'thank Steve Kean for his time' and 'wish him all the best for the future'. Blackburn also commented that they would be looking for a replacement immediately. Rumours surrounding Ewood Park suggest that the club have already found a young, unexpected replacement to take the reigns at Blackburn Rovers and lead the club back to promotion [via The Guardian].

A spokesman for Blackburn Rovers said, "The club have found a new manager and will announce something later on in the day". A press conference is expected around noon time.

More to follow…

INEXPERIENCED MAN GETS THE NOD

12:33 PM

After days of negotiation, Blackburn Rovers have revealed the young and inexperienced manager, Stuart Regan as manager of Blackburn Rovers, hours after announcing the sacking of Steve Kean.

Despite there being a press conference planned for the announcement, the club have decided to cancel in order for the new man to finish his holiday. On arrival, no press conference will be re-appointed in order to get started ahead of the new season [via Blackburn Rovers website].

Regan, 28, had said to the clubs website that he was 'proud to have been given the chance as manager'. The former Youth coach and voluntary scout has had no experience as top dog and comes very inexperienced, although not a rare sight. Karl Robinson, Eddie Howe and Andre Villas-Boas are examples of young men being given the job. Regan also said exclusively to one newspaper that, he plans to completely revamp the squad, with the youth development and facilities being at such a high standard, one of his main objectives is to reduce age in the squad, having players aged 18 to 23 and limiting the aged players of over 23 to just 3 or 4. Being so young, it comes unexpected and fascinating.

The new man will arrive from his holiday in Dubai, heading straight to the training ground and starting the job ahead of pre-season.
