Im in group J in the Europa league and the top 3 teams have finished with 10 points and i have the best goal difference +6 but yet iv somehow finished 3rd and been knocked out.

Can someone explain why this is?

I believe it is based on the results from your games against Hannover.

What were the scores in the two games you played against them?

right, that would be why then they beat me 2-0 in both games but why would it be based on the games against hannover?
 
I guess it will be based against Romas too. What were your scorelines against them?

Nope. If you beat Roma both games, Roma only lost 2 games. Hannover beat you both games. So you drew with Partizan and beat them. That means Roma and Hannover drew one of their games.

I'm not sure how this helps, but it's a weird cycle of results which is exactly why goal difference is the better system.
