A New Challenge Awaits
So after waiting until the end of the season new opportunities arose and the same league was chosen. After seeing that Aston Villa were looking for a new manager following their relegation to The Championship, Sol Campbell decided to apply for the job of getting them back to the Premier League immediately. He was also offered two jobs that he was previous offered.

Having previously been unsuccessful in the chance to manage Sunderland, Campbell declined the offer of the also recently relegated club. He was also then again offered the job at Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership but refused the challenge in hope of landing the Aston Villa job.

After a quick interview with Massimo Cellino, Sol Campbell was offered the job of managing the Villains a chance to get them immediately back to the Premier League. Wide-scale changes immediately came at the club following the relegation. With many transfers out, but only key ones in.

The key notes of who left Aston Villa are Brad Guzan and Micah Richards both going back up the leagues as they both went to Hull, Adama Traoré left to local rivals West Brom, Scott Sinclair and Ashley Westwood joined Leicester City, Joleon Lescott left for Italy as he joined Torino and Jordan Amavi joined Norwich City.

Transfers in saw 4 loans from Arsenal as Gedion Zelalem, Alex Iwobi, Chuba Akpom and Yaya Sanogo joined the Villains. N'Golo Kanté and Danny Simpson both joined from Leicester City. Carl Ikeme and David Raya joined as two first choice keepers and the biggest signings came in Virgil van Dijk from Southampton and Mauricio Isla from Juventus.

If pre season results are anything to go by a win against Rangers and two smaller clubs, with a draw against Ingolstadt from Germany and a loss to Hamburg too it was not the best to look at for the club going forward. However onwards and upwards with the league.
