This story begins in 1979, after being promoted to the equivelent of whats League One now sat Shrewsbury Town a little club who played their attacking brand of football at the Gay Meadow stadium. 1979 the year a group of legendary Shrewsbury players achieved promotion to Division 1 (aka Championship) under the most successful manager in Town histoy Graham Turner, Shrewsbury stayed in Division One for most of the 80's but this is where he reminising ends and we delve into the present ...

Shrewsbury Town the once mighty, fallen like so many greats before them. On 11th June 2010 cult hero Graham Turner returns to manage where he previously achieved unbelievable success during the 1970's and 1980's before leaving for Aston Villa, sadly today his wife passed away aged 54 and he has decided to take leave from the game of football stating he wasn't planning a imminent return to the game.

The phone of chairman Roland Wycherley rang instantly, the man unknown by many fans across Shropshire after a 2 minute convosation drove to the stadium and was their within 5 minutes begging for the job of attempting to complete the chairman's 5 year plan 'get into the Championship and stabilise the club' 20 minutes after getting into Wycherley's office the deal was done, youth team manager Ben Graham was hired. Employing Graham with no past experience except 8 years coaching youth scholars is a big risk many have been on record as saying but he has Turner's backing and that's what eventually got him the job.

Pre season

Shrewsbury Town 4-2 Blackburn reserves (Hibbert x2, Bright, Howarth)
Shrewsbury Town 3-3 Milton Keynes Dons (Bright, Hibbert, Bradshaw)Shrewsbury 0-4 Hartlepool - Not very happy with attitude of certain players
Fulham 1-0 Shrewsbury - despite not scoring im happy with this result
Okay, a slightly better than expected pre season in my opinion with the draw against MK Dons especially seeing as mainly youth were used. Fitness within the squad looks very good so far but going to tinker the tactics slightly to make my team attack with a bit more zest.
Meeting the starters
Here's a chance for anyone who doesn't know Shrewsbury to see who plays where and how i rate them, starting with goalkeepers.

David Button - No.1 goalkeeper on loan from Tottenham, safe pair of hands.

Dean Holden - Right back, safe defensively and rarely bombs forward.
Kelvin Langmead - Club captain and solid centre back. True leader.
Cansdell Sheriff - Centre back can push forward, experienced at higher level
Joe Scarz - Left back from Huddesfield, very keen on attacking

Jake Robinson- Ex Brighton right winger, pace and agility are his main assets
Craig Disley- Ex Bristol Rovers, attacking central midfielder, battles keenly
Kevin Macintrye- Rarely pushs forward from midfield, holds the team together
Lewis Neal- Ex Preston, very attack minded left winger, cuts in and shoots

David Hibbert- Centre forward with height and strength, perfect target man
Rhys Murray- Loan from Arsenal, looks like a clinical finisher
