This was a test run on a few of the forum's most popular tactics using the new 11.3 patch....I edited the game so that Jose Mourinho was the assistant manager for the team I chose which was Blackburn Rovers. I went on holiday, selecting use current tactics and the same return date of 01/01/2011.

Effectively this meant Mourinho was managing the team with the tactics I chose. None of the tactics therefore are used in accordance to their creators exact specification i.e. pitch size, OI's etc etc. I just wanted to see how the tactics faired under the same conditions against each other. Each tactic was used in its own fresh new game under the conditions outlined above.

Just because the tactic wasn't successful in this test, in no way means it wouldn't do better under human control with freedom to buy players and adhere to any creator instructions.

Maybe try Paetoja's 2 wide for home games and GoalsGalore2011v5 for away!

BTW The Ghost tactic can't be tested like that because it includes changing tactics.

If you wouldnt mind maybe try a few more new tactics that were designed for 11.3.
such as:
Eds 442 Little and Large,
Barcelona 11.3
and my Beautiful Game 532 Attacking
Its just a suggestion as thore are the most popular tactics since 11.3 has came out.

Agreed. Can't argue with that. Only way to incorporate that into this test is for someone to play as blackburn, with a small database and not sign any players whilst adhering to just switching to control when in the lead (if i remember correctly). Play up until 01/01/2011 and you should have played 21 games. Its boring I know but if anyone is up for doing it let me know your results.

I was gaging reaction and so I can do this if you'd like. If people want to run this test for themselves, then just apply the following conditions:

Team = Blackburn Rovers
Edit so Mourinho is assistant
Database size small (purely for speed)
Only english premier league selected (again for speed..should only have 3000 players to load)
Go on holiday ticking use current tactics and return on 01/01/2011

Select the tactics you want and then go on holiday. My pc is pretty quick so it doesn't take longer than around 20 mins. I just minimise the game and carry on with something else.

I'm happy to test tactics, but I'm thinking if we get a few of us on the case we can burn through a load of tactics in no time and get a rough guide to how various tactics stack up

Those who want their tactics tested please feel free to ask. It might be better to wait until your thread gets a decent number of replies though else I'll have a massive queue! Maybe set the minimum replies as 100? What do people think?

Good to see my Little 'n' Large actually did alright.

Although, it is recommended that the philosophy changes for away games, and that would have probably made a few points difference.

Yeah it did fine. Remember though this is a very rough test and just a way of getting a baseline as to how a tactic might perform. I'll also be running the test with a top 4 team and also a bottom 3 team at some point to give a different perspective.

Started a new season with Napoli for V4 and so far so good in the pre-season. 8 frienlies played all 3+ goal wins with none conceded.
