INTRODUCTION:

I've been waiting for the new winter patch to be released, before embarking on my new story/save and now it finally has, I'm very keen to get started. My previous story was about Teddy Sheringham and following his managerial career, which hasn't lasted too long in real life, where as, I managed relatively large success during the save, starting out at Stevenage and ending up at Dortmund.

In this save I will be playing as myself, with the main goal of becoming one of the most successful managers on the game during my career. I intend on trying to achieve this, by managing in some of the lesser played countries on the game and will attempt to build and develop teams or a team, depending on how attached I become with a side, to domestic and hopefully European success during my career. If an opportunity arises from to manage one of the national teams, I will consider taking charge and again try and bring success to the country I've been appointed too. Finally, if a job offer is presented to me and is from a fallen giant, whether that be in real life or in the game, I will look at the proposal and decide if it's worth accepting, but basically I'm keen to build a legacy with a lesser known team and hopefully turn them into a super club to challenge the usual suspects.

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy my new save and follow my story. As always, comments, feedback and likes are appreciated and help with the motivation to keep going.
:D

MY BACKGROUND:

View attachment 171578
I spent most of my early years up on Plymouth Hoe (pictured), kicking a football around with my dad, brother and friends at every opportunity that presented itself, normally when mum wanted to spend hours shopping in town on a Saturday. After a kick around in the late morning, we would then make our way to Home Park to watch Argyle play in the afternoon, before heading home and having a takeaway dinner.

The frequent football sessions I attended, nearly every day after school, had started to pay off, as when I turned eight years old, I was spotted by a Plymouth Argyle scout and invited to join their school of excellence. I was with Argyle for another seven years and was signed to their YTS programme, where there were opportunities to sign pro forms, providing you impressed the coaches. Unfortunately towards my 16th birthday, I picked up a nasty ankle injury, which put paid to any dream I had of being offered a contract.

With the professional football dream heartbreak behind me, my family and I had moved up to Hampshire, where we now live. Though I never had the opportunity to play at the highest level again, I did play for some top local sides at a semi-professional level until I was about twenty-seven, which I enjoyed and achieved the odd bit of success.
With my passion for playing beginning to dwindle, I embarked on gaining my coaching badges, with a view to forging a career in coaching and hopefully help young players fulfil their dreams of playing at a good level.

This brings me to the present day, where I work as a football development manager at a secondary school, as well as the coaching company that works in partnership with the school. My other job is, that I am currently manager of a team in step 6 of the National League System.

As I don't like adding leagues, I have decided to begin my managerial career at one of the lowest ranked teams from one of the countries I've loaded and will start there, rather than unemployed. I have set myself with the National A license, so there's scope for me to improve and as a semi-professional footballer.

********************

Before I get underway, a big thank you to MPH93 for all the help with creating me numerous banners for another story idea I was debating doing and th3king, who a few months ago designed the banner that I'm using.

MFK DOLNY KUBIN

View attachment 171462

I've taken charge of Slovakian second division side MFK Dolny Kubin. They currently play in the DOXXbet Liga and participate in the Eastern Group of the competition.

FACILITIES:

View attachment 171458
The Stadium MUDr. Ivan Chodak is where we play our home games and has a capacity of 1,950, with 750 seats. I believe that is 50 short of the requirement needed for the Fortuna Liga, the top division in Slovakia. So hopefully, providing we can gain promotion the board will be able to find those extra seats to allow us to move forward.

View attachment 171457
We have below average facilities to train, so I may have to look at the transfer market to bring in better players to help us in the short term. One pleasing fact is that the pitch is in perfect condition, so hopefully I can stamp my playing style on the squad and we can play some attractive football.

CLUB BACKGROUND:

View attachment 171456
The club was founded in 1920 and we've hardly had any success at all during that time, spending most seasons languishing in the division below the top flight. In fact this is the highest league the club has played in during the 95 year history.
With a population of just under 20,000, I will look to bring some much needed success to the town situated in the Zilina Region, which is in Northern Slovakia.

FINANCES:

View attachment 171455
As expected the finances aren't brilliant, but we are in the black which is a small positive to take. To improve our financial situation, I'll be looking to get into the Fortuna Liga as quickly as possible and look to take advantage of making some quick money by selling players, until we reach Europe.

DOXXbet LIGA ODDS:

View attachment 171452
As the odd list shows, we are a 100/1 shot at being involved in the promotion hunt. There is a side below, Sered, who are 3000/1 to win promotion!! So maybe it's not all doom and gloom to begin with.

View attachment 171451
There aren't too many rules we have to be careful of and it's good we can sign non EU players to help with our progression. The aim has to be to get into the promotion stage and then see if we are equipped to mount a surprise promotion challenge.

Thanks for reading and let's begin my journey.....

SQUAD OVERVIEW:

View attachment 171338
The squad does lack quality, but is a pretty decent size, with options in pretty much every position. As I mentioned earlier, I will be scouring the transfer market, looking for any loan signings or free transfers that will strengthen us.

Tomas Lesnovsky (GK)

View attachment 171337
Both my goalkeepers are on loan to us from sides in the top division. Tomas is the better of the two and despite his young age will be a big asset to my defence.

Michal Drengubiak (CB)

View attachment 171336
An experienced defender, who we'll be relying heavily on, to bring much needed guidance to the back line. Michal has two years on his contract and will play a big part on the pitch, as well as helping tutor some of our younger defenders.

Milan Milutinovic (AMC)

View attachment 171330
By far our best player currently and someone who I hope will be our most creative player, in attacking areas on the pitch and be constant threat in the opposition box.

Siradji Sani (ST)

View attachment 171326
Despite his age, Siradji will be given the opportunity to lead the line for me, with Marco Pantone in reserve to replace him, if he struggles with the tempo I'm looking to play.

TACTICS:

I'm looking to play my favoured 4231 formation, the style I use when managing my own team in real life. And will be looking to play at a high tempo, while making sure we are organised throughout. My back up formation will be a 4411, which will just pull the inside forwards back in and will play as wingers in a more disciplined bank of four.

Delighted to see another story from you - Will definitely be following!

Good Luck!

PRE-SEASON:

View attachment 171085
Pre-season went pretty well, with two defeats in six games. The loss against Puszcza was the most frustrating due to them being an amateur side, but I had to make a number of changes to the side, due to injury. Our defeat to Hradec Kralove was more respectable considering we were playing higher opposition.

The four wins we picked up were most impressive and saw us score fourteen goals and concede two, giving me enough confidence going into the start of the season, that the players are beginning to understand how I want them to play.

LUBOMIR MORAVCIK

View attachment 171078
I needed to improve my backroom staff and the main area I wanted to change was my Assistant Manager. Ex Celtic and Slovakian star Lubomir Moravcik fitted the bill perfectly and will be a huge help to have as my right hand man.

TRANSFERS:

IN:

Zoltan Agh - Free

View attachment 171077
Zoltan has been brought in to be first choice left back. He has average stats, but I'm confident they will be fine for this level.

Kieran Asumadu-Sakyi - Free

View attachment 171076
The main area we need to add is in midfield and with not many options available, Kieran was the best of the bunch we could attract. That said, the former Plymouth Argyle youngster, could develop into a good player with enough game time.

CLUB LINK:

View attachment 171071
We've managed to create a link with Slovan Bratislava, the countries biggest club. I'm not sure how well the partnership will work, as their 'B' team is in the same league as us. Hopefully we maybe offered a couple of rising stars who can add more depth to my small squad.

MID-SEASON UPDATE:

View attachment 170476

KEY PLAYERS:

View attachment 170475
Matus Otruba

The inside forward has been in unbelievable form for us. He's been our main goal threat, scoring 6 in 12 games, with an average rating of 8.04.

View attachment 170474
Tomas Lenarth

Tomas is a new signing and joins on loan from Dun. Streda for the remainder of the season. He has slotted in alongside Asumadu-Sakyi in midfield and has been instrumental in our recent run of form.

LEAGUE:

View attachment 170473
With the halfway point of the season reached, we sit in top spot and have really surprised a number of people with our excellent form. One loss and two draws in eleven, has seen us win the other eight games and means its set up a two way fight between ourselves and Spisska Nova Ves for first place.

View attachment 170472
We began the season very well picking up eleven points from our first five games. Then came our only loss so far and annoyingly it was against Spisska Nova Ves. But from that disappointment, we haven't dwelled on it and are currently on a five game winning run.

SLOVNAFT CUP:

View attachment 170471
We made very hard work of our first round tie. Playing against non-league opposition, we had to rely on penalties to see us through. Despite playing a weaker side, I still expected more from the players and will be looking for a better performance in the next round.

WINTER BREAK UPDATE:

View attachment 169943
My small squad has still been playing above expectations, but injuries to Milutinovic and Asumadu-Sakyi have hit us quite hard in the midfield area. Tomas
Lenarth has continued to impress since his loan move and is showing why he's played at a higher level. Matus Otruba and Sidraji Sani lead the goalscorer charts with seven goals.

LEAGUE TABLE:

View attachment 169942
As we reach the winter break, we still sit top of the league and have built a seven point lead over Kosice, who are the favourites for the title.
We have four games remaining when the season starts up again in the new year, so it's very much in our hands to stay at the top. After the 22 games, I believe the league gets split, so we are on course to be involved in the promotion group.

View attachment 169941
A disappointing loss to Kosice, after two good away victories, was the big frustration as we couldn't replicate the recent good form against the league favourites. We did bounce back with three wins in a row and during that run, we got revenge on Spisska Nova Vos beating them comfortably. The defeat to Poprad has made me think that we need to strengthen during the winter break to enable us to compete in the higher division next season.

SLOVNAFT CUP:

View attachment 169938
Not the best cup run for us this year, as we embarrassingly got dumped out by a lower league side. I was really hoping to progress quite far in the competition, but a last minute goal denied that opportunity.

TRANSFER NEWS:

IN:

View attachment 169866
Harry Crawford - Free

First through the door was Harry Crawford, who has been signed on a large wage, but is a risk I feel we need to take. I'm looking for Harry to be our main goal threat and if he scores regularly, could possibly be sold for a profit in the next year or two.

View attachment 169864
Ivan Hladik - Loan

A young promising centre back signed from Senica in the division above. Though he joins initially on loan, if he performs well, I'd be keen to turn the deal into a permanent one at the end of the season.

OUT:

View attachment 169862
With Harry Crawford brought in and Sani's refusal to sign a new contract, I had no choice but to allow Siradji join the Austrian outfit when his contract runs out in the summer.

INJURY NEWS:

View attachment 169859
Huge blow for us, as Milan Milutinovic has suffered a hip injury. With surgery required, we've sent him to a specialist and will be out for about 3 months.

YOUTH INTAKE:

View attachment 169858

Pavol Gabris - GK

View attachment 169857
Pavol is the best of the bunch and could, with the right training turn into a decent keeper.

Peter Mravec - CM

View attachment 169856
Another young player, who with the right guidance could play a part for us in the future.

JUNE 2016:

View attachment 168845
With my contract running out at the end of the season, the board were keen for me to sign an extension and continue to build on the good work we've started. At the moment I'm happy to carry on at Dolny Kubin and hope I can bring some success over the next year.

View attachment 168843
View attachment 168842
What a brilliant first season in charge. We managed to win the DOXXbet Liga and seal promotion to the Fortuna Liga. Strangely our form wasn't as good as it was before the winter break, but we hung in there and won the title by two points. It should've been a bigger margin looking back, but we drew too many games and threw away points when leading.

View attachment 168841
Finishing in 1st place is also our best ever position and this will see us compete in the Fortuna Liga for the first time in our history. I'm under no illusion, that next season will be a massive challenge for us, so I'll have to look to improve the squad in many areas.

SQUAD OVERVIEW:

AWARDS:

View attachment 168706

MANAGER'S PLAYER OF THE SEASON:

View attachment 168705
Michal is probably the surprise choice for many, but he's proved many wrong, including myself, with his consistent performances at right back. Despite not playing much in the position, Michal worked very hard to be able to perform regularly at full back and has made the position his own.

FANS' PLAYER OF THE SEASON:

View attachment 168704
It's no surprise that Matus won the award and he could've won both in all honesty. He was simply superb for us this season, scoring 14 goals in 33 games and finishing as top scorer at the club. I'm very pleased he's signed a new deal and look forward to seeing how he does in the top division next season.

STADIUM NEWS:

View attachment 168701
The board have begun proceedings to buy the stadium outright, which will be a huge boost to the club. They have also decided to postpone the small matter of increasing our capacity by 50, to meet the league guidelines, something which has been accepted by the league, due to us being unable to fund the work.

View attachment 168611

PRE-SEASON 2016/17 UPDATE:

View attachment 168610
We only arranged three friendlies, due to the league starting a couple months after we finished last season. I'm pleased with how we did, as we remained unbeaten in the games, scoring ten and conceding just three. The games did show me that I need to strengthen the squad and hope to do that before our season starts.

Tomas Lenarth - Free

Tomas impressed last season, when he joined on loan and with his contract running out I took advantage and brought him in on a permanent deal. He'll again be a key player in our midfield and I'll be looking for him to create and score goals like he did last season.

View attachment 168607
Tomas Peciar - Free

Another free transfer and a signing I feel will be a huge boost to our defensive options. Tomas will be a direct replacement for Michal Drengubiak. With his value at a huge £36k, he could be a player we look to cash in to help our finances at some point.

View attachment 168606
Filip Lesniak - Free

With not many options currently available to us, I saw Spurs had released young Slovak midfielder Filip. After having him scouted, I feel he can contribute to the squad this season and if he impresses I'll extend his stay beyond his one year deal.

View attachment 168604
Nemanja Stankovic - On Loan from Zilina

Nemanja will provide excellent competition for Matus Ortuba and Lubislav Laura on either wing. And I'm sure he'll play a key part in any success we may have this season.

OUT:

Peter Sopuch - £5k
Michal Drengubiak - £10k
Siradji Sani - Free

The big transfer out the club was experienced centre back Michal Drengubiak, who despite the key part he played in our promotion, was beginning to start to decline in fitness. The deal we were offered was too good to turn down and it gives Michal a chance to play in a higher division. Siradji Sani was another important player leaving us in pre-season. Again, he had the opportunity to play in the Austrian top league and felt it was too good to refuse.
Peter Sopuch wasn't a regular in the side and with our finances needed a considerable boost, I felt we couldn't turn down the offer.

FORTUNA LIGA ODDS:

View attachment 168600
It looks like no one fancies us again and if we don't bring in more quality to strengthen the squad, I'll be more inclined to agree. That said, we caused a shock last season and if we stay injury free and be hard to beat in games, maybe we could have a successful campaign again.

CLUB LINK:

View attachment 168599

I'm very happy with the link we've managed to agree with Dinamo Zagreb. They are the top team in Croatia and have already offered us a couple highly rated regen players, to come and get some game time with us and help with their development.

Good luck in the Fortuna Liga, hopefully you can defy the odds again and stay up! Dinamo are a great parent team to have too!

Thanks mate. Yeah it'll be tough if I can't strengthen the team, which is proving difficult at the moment. This is where Dinamo will hopefully come in and help. They've offered me some decent players, two of which are very very good, only issue is Atletico Madrid are sniffing around both and are very interested. :S

MID-SEASON UPDATE:

KEY PLAYERS:

Michal Kutlik

Michal has continued his superb form from last season into this one. He's become one of the first names on my team sheet on game day and has made the right back position his own.

View attachment 168111
Luboslav Laura

My left inside forward has seamlessly fitted into playing in the Fortuna Liga. He's producing more consistent form than when we played in the division below and has scored some crucial goals for us.

FORTUNA LIGA:

View attachment 168109
We've been very impressive so far and if we win our game in hand we can go second. The league is a lot closer with most teams of equal ability. The surprise so far is seeing the biggest club, Slovan Bratislava languishing in the lower half of the table.

View attachment 168108
It's been a great start from us so far, with our only defeats coming against Slovan Bratislava and Dun. Streda. We have been competitive in every game, which is all I wanted from us this season and hopefully we can maintain that standard. The remaining fixtures will see us play our opponents on another two occasions, so there is still a long way to go.

SLOVNAFT CUP:

View attachment 168103
A good solid win in the first round of the cup, which sees us play a team in the lower divisions. Last season we were knocked out by a team below us, so it's important we don't let it happen again.

TRANSFER NEWS:

IN:

View attachment 168102
Goran Rog - Dinamo (Season Loan)

We made the most of our link with Croatian side Dinamo, bringing in hot prospect Goran Rog. With no goalkeeper in my squad I needed to get someone in who could help us out straight away. Though Goran won't be our long term number one, he's capable of doing a good job and becoming a decent keeper.

View attachment 168101
Bassala Sambou - (Free)

18 year old German striker, who will play a big part in our Under 19s. By playing regularly, but training with the first team, I hope we could have a top talent on our hands.

View attachment 168100
Robert Ujcik - (Free)

Robert will battle it out with Harry Crawford for the striker position. He's joined on a big wage, so I hope he'll repay that back with goals. Having had a serious injury last season, I won't use him straight away, but expect him to perform when he gets his chance.

View attachment 168099
Sergio Moya - (Free)

I firmly believe any success we'll have this season will be based on having a decent keeper between the sticks. It's taken me a while and a lot of scouting, but I think we've found our number one in Sergio. He's our highest paid player and also has a big release clause, so hopefully it'll be a win win for both parties.

JOB NEWS:

View attachment 168098
An interesting job has become available and though I'm not linked in anyway, I'm tempted to apply just to see if I get offered a
chance to meet the chairman. I'm keen to develop as a manager and find a club where I can build a legacy and compete in Europe and domestically, but I'm also enjoying my time at Dolny Kubin and depending on how this season goes, I feel I could be at a special club already.

WINTER BREAK UPDATE:

View attachment 167361
The squad have again been performing miracles and consistently turning in top draw performances. Unsung hero Michal Kutlik leads the way with a superb average rating of 7.84 in the 21 appearances he's made so far. In fact my other full back, Zoltan Agh has also been playing well too, with both players proving a constant threat in attacking areas. Our leading goal scorer is Harry Crawford, with 13 goals and he's been keeping Robert Ujcik on the bench.

FORTUNA LIGA:

View attachment 167359
We sit in the European spots as we reach the winter break and I couldn't be happier. Both Slovan Bratislava and Zilina's poor form has probably been a bug help, but take nothing away from how my squad has played. At the start of the season I'd have been happy with a top half finish, but now, providing there's one or two quality additions added in January, maybe we could qualify for Europe at the end of the season.

View attachment 167357
We smashed Slovan Bratislava at the beginning of October and though they didn't have a manager at the time, they had enough quality to beat us. But credit to my lads, who weren't fazed playing against a side full of decent talent, as we secured my most famous win to date. We remained unbeaten from then on, only dropping four points out of a possible 24 available, to help us stay around the top of the table.

SLOVNAFT CUP:

View attachment 167355
We've secured a place in the quarter finals of the cup, where we'll play Michalovce for a spot in the semi finals. In the second round, we made hard work of it, narrowly beating Samorin by the odd goal, which was scored late on. And against Duslo Sala, it was similar repeat, as we had to settle for another win by a single goal in the closing stages.
