I've decided to make my mark in management and have been offered my first post as manager of Sheffield Wednesday. I've retired as a journeyman playmaker having played for a host of Europes elite.

I'm going to send updates on a daily basis if i can or by game week to weeks in my bid for eventual Premiership glory.

Before I start can someone help me. Are there any programs or sites which allow you to add photos and images to the blog? Just so I can make it as exciting to read as possible. Cheers.

OK, evaluating my squad a quickly realised a clear-out was drastically needed. Total lack of quality throughout. I got so involved in my wheeler dealing I forgot to do an update but I;ve managed to overhaul y playing squad.

Gone are Miguel Lera, Anthony Gardner, Kamil Zayette, Jose Semedo (who I pretty much regret selling, an offer came in and I accepted it without thinking), Joe Mattock, Jermaine Johnson, David Prutton, Giles Coke, Atdhe Nuhiu, Chris Maguire and a young fella from the youth team I'll recall his name later who automatically gathers immense interest. HOld off and keep teasing the premiership clubs with him and you'll get close to £3M for the lad.

With a threadbare squad I've managed to get in:
Spanish start Fran Yeste on a free who was a star for years at Athletic Bilbao. (age 33, AMC)
Young Danish centre half Jacob Dehn. (age 17, DC)
Shaquile Coulthirst on loan from Tottenham. (age 18, SC)
My jewel in the Crown, 20 year old Danish midfielder Nicolaj Thomsen. (age 29, MC)
Rasmus Falk, another young Dane. (21, AMC)
Another young star Moses Adubajo on a part exchange (19, MR)
Jonas Knudsen, another young Dane at left back (20, DL)
Raul De Tomas, young striker from Real Madrid Castilla (18, SC)

Very confident this young bunch will start well and power on as the season progresses.

ALl of our friendlies had gone well until….
One week from the start of the season my experienced defenders Lewis Buxton gets injured along with fellow first team defenders Liam Palmer and Reda Johnson. To add to that my young midfield dynamo Thomsen gets injured in training along with fellow Dane Knudsen so were gonna start the season against QPR back on bare bones.

The match hasn't even started with Harry Redknapp mocking our young side saying were doomed for relegation because we have no experience in the team. That we won't get anywhere with our kids so we get into somewhat of a media spat. Morning of the game Raul De Tomas gets hit with the injury curse so we going in with a player I really didn't want to start the season with up front in Coulthirst.

Match Report: I go into battle having selected:
GK - Chris Kirkland
RB - Martin Taylor (centre back but I've been left with no choice)
CD - Glenn Loovens
CD - Oguchi Onyewu ©
LB - Jeremy Helan
MR - Moses Odubajo
MC - Paul Corry
MC - Rhys McCabe
ML - Rasmus Falk (out of position, usually goes behind striker)
AMC - Fran Yeste
SC - Shaquile Coulthirst.

QPR 3-0 Sheff Wed.
Barton 2 (1 pen)
Traore

We got absolutely battered. Could've been much worse. Once I saw the quality QPR had in abundance I then realised how shallow we are experience wise. We battled on but there was such a significant difference between us. The two young lads in centre mid Corry and McCabe got ruined out there. Coulthirst sunk under the pressure. It was just too much. Disappointed to lose but hey its our first game.

Following that league defeat we face Shrewsbury Town in the league cup. I'm forced to play my same team as before with two guys on the bench and we swiftly get beaten 2-0 at Hillsboro. Once again, nothing to offer.

I'm frantically scouring the market after this game and I spot Alen Halilovic, a young Croatian midfield prodigy from Dynamo. I make a loan offer which is accepted and he'w with us on loan but he's only 17 and not sure how I'm going to use him.

Few days later we entertain Burnley at Hillsboro. Once again I'm forced to play the same team with a struggling Coulthirst up front again, Raul De Tomas is back at 89% fit but don't want to risk him. I take the game and we get beaten again 2-1. Goals from Junior Stanislas and Ashley Barnes have us down by two early. We rally late in the game and sub De Tomas grabs a late goal but too little too late.

I'm thinking about what Harry Redknapp said about our inexperience and I'm thinking he has a point. We've got a few players to come back but I want a shock promotion push this season so I have to scour the free market see who's out there.

A day later I quickly acquire the services of former Liverpool and Galatasaray left back Albert Riera on a free transfer. He's a decent guy, played for a host of top European clubs including Olympiakos, Espanol and Bordeaux. He's 31 years old and has a sweet left foot. He's a hard worker so will mainly utilise him at left midfield where he's pretty useful, with crossing at 15 going to hopefully give our strikers some service.

With another tough game in the pipeline against Leeds I've swooped on veteran striker Ivan Klasnic formerly of Bolton, Nante and Werder Bremen. At 33 years old he's on a one year deal having scored 133 goals in 389 games during his career. I really think I needed a bit of a beefy presence up front in this division so hopefully he can muscle in some goals and give our young midfielders a bit of a target.

We go into our game against Leeds with emergency right back Martin Taylor picking up flu so with no right back for the trip I'm forced to play winger Odubajo at right back and hand teenage prodigy Halilovic a debut at Elland Road.

We start well, putting a good fight in with teenage Dane Jacod Dehn starting at Anchorman. Were looking tight until Ross McCormack bangs one in out of nowhere. Wednesday are still putting up a fight and young Shaquile Coulthirst gets on the end of a fine Halilovic cross and sweeps in an equaliser. Few minutes after McCormack gets the winner just before half time. No useful subs on the bench were forced to fight on with tired bodies we just can't pull a result out of this one.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Millwall
Taylor
Yeste

Today saw the return of senior players Reda Johnson at left back in for Helan, Taylor returning from flu to replace Onyewu who had been having a tough time of late. Captain Buxton comes back in at right back. Riera is handed his debut at left midfield with Haliloviv and his countryman Klasnic on the bench along with De Tomas and Falk in reserve too.

Totally dominated them with Coulthirst having a great impact looking way more gutsy and willing to run at defenders. Riera put in a cross from a short corner with Taylor rising highest to head home. With our recent history I was anxious about Millwall rallying hard at us but Yeste scored a fantastic individual goal to seal things up before half time. We saw the second half out pretty well with Klasnic coming on the gain some match fitness and things looking up after our first win of the season.

With a host of youngsters full of flair the end of the transfer window is looming and I'm desperately trying to find some centre midfield options with us having only two guys in there who are 22 years old and not string enough to take us where we need to be. Scouring that free market looking at some veteran pros in the hope we can nab a few gambles by end of window.
