Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has told The Chronicle that he remains 100% focused on achieving his targets with The Magpies this season despite the ongoing takeover talk and speculation surrounding his relationship with owner Mike Ashley. The Spaniard also claimed no business would be done in this summer window as he is 'happy with what we have'.

BREAKING: Toon U23 manager and former player Peter Beardsley leaves club.

View attachment 58822
Newcastle United have tonight confirmed that current Under-23's manager Peter Beardsley has left the club by mutual consent. This news comes as the former Magpies forward has been embroiled in a bullying controversy involving his current squad, namely Morroccan forward Yasin Ben El-Mhani. Rafa Benitez has moved quickly to replace Beardsley by earmarking Fulham's Peter Grant as his man to lead Newcastle's younger side.

Newcastle United Ship Out Crop of Youngsters on Loan

Newcastle United and manager Rafael Benitez has decided to send a batch of his Under-23 side out on loan. Sky Sports News understands that the Spaniard currently does not see these players as part of Newcastle's future and has challenged them to either make him think otherwise or earn a move elsewhere.

Newcastle United confirm official partnership with Milton Keynes Dons

View attachment 58806View attachment 58805

Newcastle United are delighted to announce that we have struck a partnership with League 1 side Milton Keynes Dons. The main draw for this agreement is that The Dons will have first refusal on any young players we intend to loan out and they have agreed to do all in their power to develop our players as best they can and hopefully our youngsters will help them rise through the leagues. As a token of this partnership we have agreed to send talented youngster Victor Fernandez on an initial 6 month loan to MK.

A plucky Newcastle United side who were missing key players such as Dummett, Lejeune, Ritchie and Perez managed to overcome big-spending Everton to bring 3 points home from Merseyside. The Magpies started strongly and got their deserved goal through fantastic work from Christian Atsu on the right hand side to feed goal who slotted home. Everton responded well and got the equaliser through Wayne Rooney. Newcastle came out after half time with real intent though and managed to clinch a deserved win after Atsu, again, laid on a chance for marksman Gayle who made sure of the points. Rafa Benitez seemed to indicate after the game that he was looking at out of contract defensive options to ease his injury worries,
MOTM - Christian Atsu (2 assists)

It was yet another good day for former Eagle Dwight Gayle as he made it 4 goals in 2 games to continue his blistering start to the season. Ayoze Perez made his comeback from injury from the start and weighed in with 2 goals before being hooked at half time to aid his recovery as Benitez felt he wasnt worth risking with his side being 4 goals up at half time. Matt Ritchie also made his comeback from the bench whereas loanee Islam Slimani has had a setback and will be out for a couple of weeks.

Newcastle travelled to The Etihad in good form and 11 places higher than Manchester City, but in the end they never looked like getting the better of the blues. Though the effort couldn’t be questioned, the threat just wasn’t there and City never really had to get out of second gear which meant the two well-worked Sane goals was all it took.
MOTM – Leroy Sane (2 goals)

It can only be one player. Gayle has got himself 4 goals in 3 games and is really thriving in the 4-2-3-1 system. The former Palace hitman will need to stay on his game with Joselu and Islam Slimani breathing down his neck.

Newcastle United were booed off the St James’ Park turf after they failed to bounce back from a disastrous first half against West Brom. After quickly going two goals down, United’s uphill task got more difficult when Jacob Murphy saw red for a second bookable offence. The second half saw Newcastle dominate play with Gayle having two goals chalked off and the Magpies also hit the woodwork three times before Matt Phillips killed the game off on the break.
MOTM – Kieran Gibbs (8.7, 1 assist)

The tension was palpable in this afternoons tie as a Newcastle United in poor form matched up with a Burnley side in 19th with only 1 point on the board. From early on it was obvious that neither team wanting to over-commit with the risk of being caught on the break. This meant when Gayle broke through and slotted home just before half time that the contest was as good as over with Burnley unable and seemingly unwillin to open themselves up.
MOTM - Dwight Gayle (8.3, 1 goal)

A heavily-rotated Newcastle side, including Slimani making his first start, proffesionally dispatched of a Reading side unable to bridge the gap in quality. Jacob Murphy redeemed himself for a red card early on against Man City last time out and a late own goal was enough to secure victory.
MOTM - Javier Manquillo (7.7)

Newcastle and Rafa Benitez were a matter of minutes away from collecting an impressive point at Anfield when Ben Woodburn stole in at the back post. The Welsh youngster also grabbed the Reds' first on the hour mark to really galvanise his team. Newcastle were very much in control up until that point after Dwight Gayle kept up his red hot form with a goal in the opening minutes.
MOTM - Roberto Firmino (8.8)

New man in Toon?: Former Aston Villa chairman Steve Hollis (right) believed to be close to agreeing a deal with NUFC owner Mike Ashley (right).

Former Aston Villa chairman, and the man who was key to brokering a deal to sell them to Tony Xia, Steve Hollis has taken a huge step towards becoming the next owner of Newcastle United. The London-based Tycoon is leading a consortium to acquire the club and reports have suggested if he is succesful, he will invest around £50m THIS season. No word yet on what Hollis is willing to pay for Newcastle United but suggestions on Ashleys price are in the region of £300m-£350m. More as we get it..
