League Cup 3rd round

A really pleasing win here which ensured we make it to the 4th round.

Kevin Volland opened the scoring after just 4 minutes. Sturridge set up Volland brilliantly as he netted his 3rd goal of the season. Sturridge beat three players in order to drag the ball back to Volland who powered past the goalkeeper.

Nicolas Otamendi then doubled our lead with just 10 minutes to go. Jordan Henderson crossed in the ball from a freekick which found Otamendi only a matter of yards out who volleyed home to ensure us of the victory.

We dominated from start to finish with us having 3 times more shots recorded and shots on target. We also had a very impressive 64% possession.

This victory ensured we made it to the 4th round ...

We drew Stuttgart away from home in the 4th round. Stuttgart ply their trade in the 3rd division but will still be tough opposition!

Inter hit Liverpool on break to claim all 3 points

Inter Milan claimed victory over Liverpool today after a classic counter attacking performance.

Inter took the lead after just 25 minutes when Shaqiri was found in the penalty area by Martin Skrtel. Mauro Icardi then took the penalty and sent Mignolet the wrong way.

Their lead was doubled 10 minutes later when Shaqiri again ran through the Liverpool defence. This time finishing off the move himself to score a wonderful effort.

Liverpool continued to control the game and went on to record 61% possession but failed to create any real guilt edge chances. Nathaniel Clyne was a constant threat down the right wing but never managed to find the correct final ball.

October 2014

Again October was a really short month with us only playing 2 league games all month!

View attachment 229570

After only picking up 1 point for the second time in consecutive months we drop right down to 15th!

We're now only 2 clear of the relegation zone on 7 points. The league is still really tight though at this early stage, we're only 3 points off Man City in 10th place.

GOALLESS DRAW BETWEEN BAYERN AND LIVERPOOL

Bayern Munich recorded a 0-0 draw with English side Liverpool in a fiery encounter.

There were 7 yellow cards handed out between both sides plus a sending off for both teams as well.

Chances were few and far between in this game of poor quality and fiery tackles. Bayern only recorded 6 efforts in total with 1 on target, Liverpool meanwhile only managed 2 in total with 1 on target.

Two red cards were shown in the space of 2 mad minutes. First of all Javi Martinez was shown a second yellow for a badly times tackle on Sami Khedira. Only 60 seconds later Nigel De Jong was shown his second yellow card a the game threatened to turn into a farce with various scuffles emerging.

Liverpool claim first win in 6 games

Liverpool claimed their first victory in 6 outings in the World League Premier League after a very good performance against a struggling Porto side.

Liverpool took an early lead through Philippe Coutinho who scored his first of the season in the process. Daniel Sturridge made the goal by working the goalkeeper from the edge of the box, his save then fell to Coutinho who finished well from a tight angle.

View attachment 229555

Liverpool were then pegged back 15 minutes later when Casemiro charged down the right flank and into the penalty area where he was hacked down by Alberto Moreno who gave away a needless penalty.

Jackson Martinez then smashed home the penalty with a powerful effort which gave Mignolet no chance.

Daniel Sturridge then netted his 8th of the season and re-took the lead for Liverpool. Jordan Henderson played a brilliant ball forward after Sturridge had made a good run round the back of the defenders, just staying onside. He then finished very well by lifting it over the onrushing goalkeeper.

Liverpool then played the second half very well and restricted Porto to just one effort in the second half. Liverpool also had the majority of the ball by recording 61% of the ball.

DOUBLE SACKING IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

In a busy day in the Premier League, we have had news of two managerial casualties in the shape of Benfica boss Jorge Jesus and AC Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi.

Both clubs waved goodbye to their respective managers due to poor form in the league after both finding themselves in the relegation zone.

Jorge Jesus departed the club after losing 8 of their 11 leagues games and are yet to record a single victory. Defeats to Porto (4-0), Barcelona (6-0), Bayern Munich (4-1) showed how out of their depth they were under the Portuguese manager.

Their biggest disappointment however came in the League Cup where they lost 2-0 to Dinamo Bucharest who currently play in the 5th division.

The form of AC Milan under Filippo Inzaghi is equally poor. In their 11 games they managed just 2 wins and collected a total of 8 points.

AC Milan recorded similarly poor results during Inzaghis reign, a 7-0 loss to Barcelona on the opening day proved to be a sign of things to come.

LIVERPOOL ANNOUNCE INJURY TO NATHANIEL CLYNE

Liverpool FC have announced an injury to right back Nathaniel Clyne after a training ground accident.

The early thoughts are that Clyne will be injured for up to 4 months with a suspected broken foot.

The injury occurred during a freak accident in training, sources are said it happened during a 50-50 tackle with Dejan Lovren.

It is thought that Clyne won't be back in action until around March/April time and will miss vital games against Barcelona, Man City, Man Utd and Bayern Munich.

It is thought that either Jon Flanaghan and Javi Manquillo will now battle it out for the right back slot. Although to make matters worse for Liverpool, Manquuillo is injured himself for another 4 weeks or so and Flanaghan is just coming back from a serious knee injury and was not expected to feature in the first team for another couple of months.

November 2014

Once again, November was a stupidly short month with us only playing 2 games!

View attachment 229291

At least we managed to pick up a couple more points this month.

We picked up 4 points thanks to a win against Porto and the goalless draw against Bayern.

This shifts us back to 11 place, with 11 points from 10 games played. I had hoped for a few more points and to be a couple of places higher in the league but this league is so much harder than I imagined!

Our whole season could rest on the next month, we play 5 league games in December including winnable games against Dortmund, Athletico, Ac Milan and Valencia! If we can pick up between 10-12 points here then it really could transform our season.

With such a short month it was difficult choicing a player of the month as no-one really had that much of an opportunity to impress.

Jordan Henderson was brilliant in the win against Porto though and led the side very well in the difficult game against Bayern.

A great comeback here from the lads!

We went 1-0 down thanks to a Vedad Ibisevic opener after just 13 minutes. Martin Harnick put in a wonderful ball from the right wing which took both center halfs out of play and gave Ibisevic an easy chance.

Daniel Sturridge then scored his first of his brace to level things. Joe Allen, getting a very rare start fed the ball through to Sturridge who finished high past the keeper into the roof of the net.

Sturridge then scored his second of the afternoon just before the hour mark when Origi played the ball to him on the edge of the box. Sturridge then glided past his man and finished low into the corner for us to take the lead.

We then wrapped things up with just a couple of minutes remaining. Lucas Leiva delivered an out swinging corner which Origi picked up 30 yards from goal, he took a touch and then smashed the ball past the 'keeper to put the game beyond any doubt.

We also got a favourable draw in the next round ...

Olympiakos in the next round i very winnable!

They currently play in the Second Division so it's certainly a great chance to make the Quarter Finals.

This was really worrying, I couldn't imagine the side without Henderson!

After a shakey start to his Anfield career he's really become a vital member of the squad and is now captain and first name on the teamsheet.

With him only have 19 months left on his contract I decided to immidately call him into my office to discuss extending his stay ...

Before I could even put our offer on the table to him, Jordan stopped me in my tracks as he had some news for me:

View attachment 228557View attachment 228556

This was absolutely gutting!

I desperately want to keep Henderson at the club. He's been our best player this season and is club captain. It would be devastating to lose him!

I decided to go forward and offer him a contract extension anyway ...

View attachment 228555

It didn't go very well however!!

Henderson was totally unprepared to even listen to me. It looks like him mind is made up over a move to Man City, despite them only being 8th place in the league and hardly challenging for silverware.

Nigel De Jong sinks valiant Dortmund

Liverpool overcame Dortmund today in what turned out to be a very tight and hotly contested game. Liverpool started brightly and took the lead early on through an unlikely source, holding midfielder Nigel De Jong scoring from close range after just 5 minutes.

View attachment 228548

Liverpool's dominance continued as they looked the have Dortmund on the back foot for the majority of the first half. Kevin Volland wasted two brilliant chances late on in the half after Philippe Coutinho played him through one on one on both occasions.

Dortmund looked much stronger in the second half and had chances to equalise themselves. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being a constant threat with him playing on the shoulder of the last defender. Sadly for Dortmund it was only his finishing that let him down today.

The game finished with Nigel De Jong's opener being the only goal in the game.

Liverpool come from behind to ****** victory

A very pleasing comeback here from the lads. Hoffenheim took a shock lead after 8 minutes through Anthony Modeste after he beat Otamendi in the air and beat Mignolet at the near post.

Liverpool then came strong though and levelled before half time through Daniel Sturridge. Sturridge got on the end of a brilliant cross from Kevin Volland as he headed in and gave the 'keeper no chance.

It was then roles reversed and we took the lead midway through the second half. Daniel Sturridge turned provider as he set up Volland on the edge of the area who struck it well to the bottom right 'keeper to make it 2-1 Liverpool.

Liverpool then saw the game out with Hoffenheim offer very little going forward.

View attachment 228545

We then went on to draw Real Betis in the 3rd round. This should be another very winnable round in a competition I want to do well in.

Liverpool win in dominant performance

Liverpool ran out 3-0 winners here against a very ordinary Athletico Madrid side who couldn't compete with this in-form Liverpool side.

Liverpool opened the scoring just after the half hour mark through Philippe Coutinho who continued his great form after winning man of the match in the last game.

View attachment 228541

Daniel Sturridge then doubled the lead less than 10 minutes later, Jordan Henderson assisting on both occasions.

The game was then wrapped up through Nigel De Jong who scored his second in the last 2 league games! Kevin Volland whipped in the corner which was met by the head of De Jong who headed in with power.

Athletico offered very little in response and in truth were well beaten by a much better side on the day.

Last gap equaliser saves Liverpool

Liverpool have defender, Martin Skrtel to thank after the headed home the equlaliser here against Man City deep into injury time.

Kevin Volland opened the scoring for Liverpool within the first minute, meaning they scored in the 1st and 90th minute of the game.

Volland opened the scoring after Sami Khedira had played him through on the right side of the area, he then finished across goal and into the bottom corner.

Man City then took control and it soon became the Sergio Aguero show as he first equslised after 20 minutes after breaking the offside trap and being found brilliantly thanks to David Silva.

Aguero then scored his second of the game after the hour mark. Aguero picked the ball up deep in Liverpool's side as he began his run and beat 3 defenders before firing the ball past the 'keeper to make it 2-1.

View attachment 228531

With just 10 minutes to go, Jordan Henderson picked up the ball and ran into City's penalty area where he was brought down by Kompany. Penalty given. Sami Khedira stepped up but couldn't beat Joe Hart who saved brilliantly.

View attachment 228532

But that wasn't the end of the drama. Deep into injury time Jordan Henderson won and took a deep freekick which was whipped into the penalty area where Martin Skrtel was there to head home and equalise.

Liverpool in dominant win

Liverpool once again showed their dominance in the World Premier League, this time in an away game against struggling AC Milan.

They opened the scoring early on as Nicolas Otamendi headed home from a Jordan Henderson freekick delivery.

Daniel Sturridge then got himself on the scoresheet to double the lead on the hour mark. His goal came after good work from Kevin Volland down the right hand side, he then laid the ball off to Sturridge who couldn't miss from just a couple of yards out.

Philippe Coutinho then rounded the game off with his second goal in 3 games. Henderson once again assisted with a very good and discreet ball round the back of the defence. Coutunho then finished brilliantly.

Liverpool's form comes to abrupt end

Valencia ended Liverpool's wining run with a great 2-1 victory over the Mersyside outfit. Liverpool were not on form today and at times even looked disinterested.

Valencia certainly made the most of this and duly took an early lead through ex-Manchester City striker, Alvaro Negredo after only 5 minutes. Negredo bullied Martin Skrtel from an in-swinging corner and got above the Slovakian and headed in a powerful effort past Mignolet.

Liverpool then came back into the game just after half time when Kevin Volland equalised. He tapped the ball in after Philippe Coutinho had an effort which re-bounded off the post, this effort fell straight to Volland who couldn't miss.

But this lifeline was only brief as Valencia re-took the lead late on after Liverpool failed to kill them off. Dani Parejo with the winner with a deflected free-kick from 25 yards out which flat footed Mignotlet and ensured Valencia recorded a much needed victory.

ps : did you delete the AFC Champions league ?

Wish I knew this when I started haha! The Champions League doesn't work on mine, think its a bug on season one. You have to holiday every game to continue so I've just left it out of the story. Hopefully it sorts itself out for future years :)
