its nice that you bought daniel acquino...in my liverpool save he is a beast.....alongside torres....

Aquino was the golden boot winner for Under 20's WC in 2009 in this saved game. That's the only reason I went for him.

And I would highly recommend Eyal Golasa to all of you looking for a CAM. He is very good even when this young.

Wold cup is drawing to a close today with a match between two dark horse teams. Serbia is getting set to face Uruguay in this historic final.
This is Serbia's first appearance on the world stage under an autonomous name. It is a proud moment for many Serbs to have overcome the odds, beating the Azzuri on penalties in the semi finals to advance to the final match.
"This is an incredible feeling," says Aleksandar Kolarov. "to know that we will have a chance to bring the world cup home for the first time in our history is no small feat." adds Luković. Radomir Antić's side are still an outside bet for the title, and it will me battle of 3 teammates (Muslera for Uruguay, Luković and Kolarov for Serbia) as each team goes out for the win.

The Road to World Cup Final:

Second Round
USA - Italy 0-1
Brazil - Chile 2-0
Spain - Croatia 3-0
Coté 'd Ivore - Northern Ireland 2-0
England - Holland 0-1
Serbia - Germany 3-0
Japan - Argentina 3-1 (e)
Uruguay - Mexico 1-0 (e)

Quarter Final
Italy - Coté 'd Ivore 2-1
Brazil - Spain 1-0
Holland - Uruguay 1-1 (pen)
Serbia - Japan 4-1

Semi Final
Italy - Serbia 0-0 (pen)
Brazil - Uruguay 1-1 (pen)

Third Place Playoff
Italy - Brazil 1-2

Final
Serbia - Uruguay 1-2

A very good month for Lazio saw them improve their position to the third spot Italian Serie A. This was an extremely busy month for Lazio, and they will crave any sort of break they can get in the near future. Nevertheless, great performances see them in third place, trailing Inter by only 7 points.

End of the Month Analysis:
A good month for Lazio saw them qualify for the knockout stages of EURO Cup much in the same way they did in last year's edition of the competition. They have managed to hang on to their second place in Serie A, behind Inter, and ahead of AC Milan and Juventus. With the transfer window coming up, it will be imperative to try and improve central midfield, and for that, Lazio have targeted Chelsea's yound Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matić. Matić, who is reportedly far from happy at Stamford Bridge has submitted a transfer request, and Chelsea are reportedly willing to part with him for a fee of $2.5mil USD.

Transfer Update: January 22, 2011
Lazio have just signed Chelsea’s young Serbian midfielder, Namanja Matić to a 3 year deal for a reported fee of $2.5mil USD.
“I am delighted to be given this opportunity,” says Matić, “Lazio is a club known for its loyal supporters throughout the world, and as such, it is an honor for me to be given such a tremendous opportunity.”
“Namanja is a quality young player. I am more than confident that his presence in the middle, along Eyal Golasa, Deco, and Mauro Zárate will give this club the necessary strength to overcome other contenders in Serie A.”
Matić has been highly sought after by bigger clubs such as Real Zaragoza, FC Porto, and SL Benfica, but snubbed their offers in favor of Biancocelesti. Lazio fans will undoubtedly be very happy with this purchase, especially if Matić continues to show strides like he did at his previous club. Matić will make his debut along side Eyal Golasa tomorrow (Sunday) when Lazio are set to face Sampdoria at Stadio Olimpico.
January 23, 2011
Lazio have completed the swoop of Real Madrid’s central midfielder Fernando Gago. Gago’s been transfer listed at Bernabeu for the last few months, and has been featured in the starting lineup only 4 times this season before being transferred to Lazio for $6.25mil USD.

End of the Moth Analysis:
The fans will be delighted with captures of Matić and Gago, but the heavy (4-0) defeat at the hands of AC Milan will not be forgotten easily. Lazio are fortunate enough to remain in second place, and their next match against Fiorentina (fourth in the table) will shape their true intentions for the rest of the season.

Lazio's new signings can't wait to showcase their talent and help their new team win the 3 points at Stadio Olimpico against Fiorentina.
"I cannot wait for the kick-off." Says newly signed Nemanja Matić.
It is thought that his manager will be in the same frame of mind.

EURO Cup Quarter Final and Semi Final Draws takes place today in Zurich. Lazio have been drawn against the Spanish side, Racing Club S.A.D. Biancocelesti are being viewed as favorites for this matchup. Having won last year’s crown, Lazio will no doubt look to pose a serious threat and mount a push for defense of the title. Nemanja Matić is expected to make his return for this match. The winner of this tie will face off against Schalke 04, or Feyenord in the semi finals of EURO Cup.

Brilliant display by Lazio sees them progress to EURO Cup final for the second year in a row. Biancocelesti overcame Feyenord to advance to the EURO Cup final against Portuguese side Sporting CP (who beat Arsenal 2-1 on aggregate). This is only Lazio’s second appearance in EURO Cup final, having previously lifted this prestigious trophy last season. Lazio have done it again! Biancocelesti have successfully defended their EURO Cup title from the previous season, although no one anticipated it would take a penalty shootout to decide it all. Sporting CP provided an excellent challenge for Lazio, but in the end it was the goalkeeper Joe Heart, and defender Andre Dias who decided the match. Lazio’s fans will be delighted with this feat, one which no other team has successfully accomplished in a very long time.

Lazio have stunned the football world this season by achieving a double. They have successfully defended their EURO Cup title, improved their league position from sixth to second in Serie A, and have thusly earned a direct entry into UEFA Champions’ League group stage for the 2011/2012 season. Their fans can be very proud of the feats their team has accomplished this year. To top it all off, Lazio were the most attractive scoring team last season. Biancocelesti have managed to find the back of the net 81 times, but have also conceded 51 goals.

Many contemporary scouts are comparing this Serbian youngster (Slavomir Milošević) as next Milan Galić. Galić, who played for then SFR Yugoslavia, from 1959-1965, scoring 37 goals in 51 international matches, is regarded as one of football legends in Serbia, right alongside Dragan Džajić, the current Lazio Manager.
Milošević will spend the next year in Lazio's U20 setup, with a possibility of being loaned out to a bigger club next season.

Lazio manager, Dragan Džajić, is starting to take drastic measures to instill discipline within his squad. After Andre Dias’ own goal in 81st minute against Inter, Džajić has slammed Dias’ performance, not giving him the benefit of the doubt, and giving him no way to redeem himself in the eyes of Biancocelesti fans by giving him away to Werder Bremen. Džajić has also splurged another $16.5mil USD to secure the services of Czech defender Marek Suchy from Spartak Moscow. Suchy will take over Dias’ position in defense, provided he proves his worth to his new teammates and fans first. Coincidentally, Lazio also set a new record for spending within a single season, with a whopping $58mil USD spent on transfers since the beginning of the transfer window in July.

With disappointment setting in the Lazio camp, many fans are starting to wonder what the current manager is thinking. Many fans are starting to argue that the current 3-4-3 diamond tactical system should be scrapped, and many of those fans have made their voices public on Lazio’s message boards, and especially, in sports newspaper polls and interviews.
Lazio’s continuing to slum, currently sitting in thirteenth spot in Serie A, something that should not be a reality with the squad of this caliber. Many fans are concerned about the way Lazio’s attacking power is being utilized. Jô, Rocchi, Floccari, and Cardozo have been performing well, but nowhere close to what they are capable of, especially Oscar Cardozo.
Starting with their upcoming clash against Barca, Lazio will hit the pitch with a new set of tactics and different style of play can be expected.
“I am looking to shut up shop, as well as pose a legitimate offensive threat.” Adds Lazio manager.
Lazio’s season expectations are sky high, and the fans are hoping that their team will deliver results when called upon. Every game counts, and those 15 points dropped so far will definitely hurt Lazio’s chances of mounting a serious title challenge.

Match Day 3
Wednesday, October 19, 2011
Barcelona vs. Lazio
Lionel Messi (21)
Man of the Match: Maxwell

Analysis and post match comments:
"I liked what I saw today against Barcelona," said one of the Lazio fans when asked about the teams new look and tactics. "they seemed to work together, like one cohesive unit, and can be proud of this result despite their loss."
Dragan Džajić decided to switch up the tactics after his teams poor performance in Serie A. Lazio are in desperate need of a shakeup, since the current setup does not seem to be working as well as it did last year.
"Of course, a part of that is due to the fact that we've lost a heap of decent players, who fit well into our tactical system, with the end of the last season. When new players are brought in, every manager has to face potential changes that are going to need to be made sooner, rather than later." Says Džaja.
There are rumors that one of Valencia's coaches, Pako Ayestaran, is interested in joining Lazio's backroom staff as a youth coach.
"I have other plans for Pako." calmly adds Dragan Džajić
"He is more than likely going to be working with our senior players, should he decided to switch allegiances."
Lazio fans are anxiously awaiting a turnaround in their teams' fortunes. Their style will have to change to accommodate their newly acquired flamboyant striker Oscar Cardozo.
"I still believe we can reach the top. We just need to focus all our energy on getting there."
Lazio will bounce back eventually. After all, Džaja has been able to re-shape the roster and turn the team into contenders last season, so who's to say he won't be able to do it again this year. Only time will tell.
