Most of the midfielders and defenders who play at high level at old age before retiring make good coaches or managers. Half of my backroom staff are ex-players.

Players who have turned into good managers/coaches on my current game: Giggs, Scholes, Lampard, Abidal, Vieira, Trezeguet, Totti, Belletti, david Suazo, El-Hadji Diouf, Drogba and Eto'o, Alessandro nesta......

Could go on forever. I like signing ex players as coaches as they usually are quite good at one or two categories and also improve very quickly.

Sol Campbell won the premiership with Liverpool in my game then replaced Wenger as manager of Arsenal. Totti is an unreal coach too if you can get him

In my story Cockfosters to Premier League most of the big clubs managers are old star players !!!

The list is very big for example big four
Arsenal - Pablo Counago should be player in Ipswich !
Chelsea - Carlo Ancelotti wow still manager in there

Man Utd - Wayne Rooney
Liverpool - Rafa Benitez wow still manager in there He is not spender like Ancelotti, he brings money in, but no trophies . Almost like in real life !
