PARDEW BANNED BY THE FA

View attachment 412936

Alan Pardew has been banned from management of clubs under the FA's jurisdiction for 12 months and fined ?500,000 for his actions in a recent game where he head-butted a player of the opposition team.

The former manager was quoted after the game saying "I've been involved in a couple of incidents on the line, and probably because I am too near the action, and I'll be sitting down from now on."

He definitely will be as he will be unable to take control of a club for 12 months and another part of his punishment is that he cannot be involved with any coaching or assistant jobs for that 12 months also, meaning unless he can get another job in another country he will be having to sit around and wait until he can manage in England again.

This of course leaves Newcastle United with the issue of having to replace the Englishman before the new season starts.

There are reports of unemployed Michael Laudrup being the main man in line to take the seat at St James' Park.

CLUB HISTORY & INFORMATION

History

View attachment 412919

So as you can see Newcastle United are a club with a good history and are definitely one of the top teams in England.

Of course the new man who owner Mike Ashley brings in will definitely be aiming to increase the amount of silverware the club has.

Club Information

View attachment 412918

So The Magpies were formed in 1892 and over their history they have managed to win the Euro Cup once, English Premier Division 4 times, Championship 3 times, FA Cup 6 times and the Community Shield once.

The club has had some great players on the books in their past such as the Premier Leagues top all time goalscorer Alan Shearer, and former England managers Bobby Robson and Kevin Keegan, the latter of who also played 78 games for club.

Newcastle's main rivals are local side Sunderland, with whom they have engaged in the Tyne-Wear derby with since 1898.

Newcastle United's traditional kit is the black and white striped shirts, and with a Navy blue away kit.

NUFC Announce New Manager

View attachment 412909

Newcastle United have announced that they have taken the same approach as Spurs in finding a new manager and have promoted from within as they have appointed coach Adam Moore as the new man in charge of the club on a 1 year contract, showing that the club will be willing to end his opportunity if it does not work out.

BBC Sport managed to get a quick conversation with the new man and the recent press conference announcing his appointment:

BBC Sport: "So Adam, how do you feel about taking charge of such a big club in England?"

Adam Moore: "I am still in dreamland... Newcastle United are an amazing club and even though they have had issues recently with the previous manager, this does not remove the fact that they have some great players and can really be a force in England and Europe."

BBC Sport: "So what are your aims for the club?"

Adam Moore: "Well of course I want to get Newcastle United back into playing European football which is where they deserve to be so of course this season I am aiming to at least get us Europa League football, maybe if we can push hard enough possible even Champions League."

BBC Sport: "Well that's all good to hear you are someone with ambitions, what do you think of the squad you have inherited?"

Adam Moore: "Obviously with me having been a coach here I know that we have a great bunch of lads here, and of course having only just been announced I haven't had much of a chance to assess how the squad fits into my tactical preferences, so that will definitely what I will be doing on my first day in charge tomorrow!

No more questions please as I have lots to get on with!"

BBC Sport: "Okay, and thank you for speaking to us"

Squad

So with it being my first day in charge I believe it would of course be best to sort through the squad and decide on the players that are going to fit into my plans for the season ahead.

View attachment 412898

Goalkeepers

View attachment 412895 View attachment 412894

Krul | Elliot

So of course Krul is our main man in goal with Elliot as back up, but I don't think he is of good enough quality if we need to call upon him for some reason so I will be looking for someone to bring in as back up which could see Elliot leave.

Full Backs

View attachment 412892 View attachment 412891 View attachment 412890 View attachment 412889 View attachment 412888

Debuchy | R Taylor | Dummett | Santon | Haidara

Debuchy and Santon are our main full backs with Haidara and Dummett as our suitable back ups if needed and if we really need it we also have Taylor.

Centre Backs

View attachment 412884 View attachment 412882 View attachment 412881 View attachment 412880 View attachment 412878

Coloccini | Williamson | S Taylor | Streete | Yanga-Mbiwa

So Coloccini and Yanga-Mbiwa are my main 2 centre backs with Williamson and Taylor as my 2 suitable back ups, and then we also Remi Streete who I believe will be a great future player for us.

Defensive Midfielders

View attachment 412875 View attachment 412874 View attachment 412872

Anita | Tiote | Kemen

Anita and Tiote and 2 of our best central players we have and will be 2 players fighting it out with the central midfielders for the 2 midfield positions we have available in our main tactic (4-2-3-1). Kemen will not feature for us this season and may go out on loan but is someone I see who has potential.

Central Midfielders

View attachment 412870 View attachment 412869 View attachment 412868

Sissoko | Bigirimana | Gosling

Sissoko will also be fighting for one of the 2 positions available where as Bigirimana is seen more as future potential player who I will want to feature for us and Gosling is more just a back up.

Wide Midfielders

View attachment 412864 View attachment 412863 View attachment 412862 View attachment 412861 View attachment 412859

Gutierrez | Ferguson | Ben Arfa | Obertan | Sammy Ameobi

Gutierrez and Ferguson are both out on loan but I will be looking to try and bring them back with Gutierrez being a good back up and Ferguson being good future player. Ben Arfa and Obertan are both my first choice wingers with them both being able to play either wing and Sammy Ameobi is a great potential player for us and will definitely feature for us.

Attacking Midfielders

View attachment 412852 View attachment 412851

Marveaux | Vuckic

Marveaux is my first choice to play behind the striker as he is a very good footballer, but I am also looking to bring back Vuckic from his loan who if brought back will feature for us occasionally but is more a future player for us.

Strikers

View attachment 412845 View attachment 412844 View attachment 412842 View attachment 412841 View attachment 412840

Shola Ameobi | Gouffran | Remy | Cisse | De Jong

So we have some great players and some good competition for our main striker with Remy, Cisse and De Jong being the ones who will fight for our first choice, but until we establish who that is they will be rotated. With Gouffran and Ameobi being back up choices, but most likely they will not feature much for us.

Conclusion

So looking at the team we have an incredibly strong squad which does not need any first team players really bringing in. Through the transfer market the only additions I can really see us needing are a back up for Krul and then most likely bring in some young wonderkid players if we can.

Pre-Season

View attachment 412837

So I was not expecting this but we actually have a fair amount of friendlies during our pre-season against some really good teams! We get to play the likes of Werder Bremen, Atletico and Montpellier all of which will be great tests of how strong our team is, where as I see all the other games as easy wins.

I think it might be good to have a lot of friendlies actually as it gives me a good chance to decide on whether there are any players that aren't performing as well as they should due to whatever the reason may be; doesn't suit tactic etc. so will give me a chance to see if we need to bring anyone in, and also will give players a chance to show me why the deserve to be my first choice for the first 11!

Lets get this underway, I shall see you again at the end of pre-season!

End of Pre-Season

View attachment 412777

Valladolid friendly was cancelled

So, overall I think we had a very good pre-season. Only disappointment was the draw with Monterrey as we were all over them but our defence was pretty appalling as I was using quite a weaker side in that game so I suppose it wasn't too bad. And the 2 losses were ones I kind of thought were possible, although we only lost to Bremen because of a last minute goal so that disappointing and Atletico were just completely dominant and we were lucky they didn't score more.

I think this has helped a lot as I would completely switch out the teams at half time to give everyone a chance so it is definitely going to be hard to choose our first team for the first game of the season away at Norwich.

Next update will be an update regarding Augusts matches and will also of course include the transfer activity! Been a few good transfers I can't wait to show you!

Transfers

So first of all... I was unable to bring back Gutierrez from his loan but that is not too much of a problem but I did bring a young player up from the reserves:

View attachment 412673

View attachment 412655

Mbabu

Mbabu is a young player recently brought in from Switzerland under the previous regime. He is naturally a centre back but also has the ability to play right back as well, he is going to be more of a player who plays against the weaker sides in cup games etc. as he hasn't got the ability now for first team but does have the potential.

------------------------------

Right, now lets get down to the real transfer business:

View attachment 412677

So first of all my main aim was to bring in a back up goalkeeper to Krul, someone who would be good enough if needed to be called upon, but also someone who has the potential to fight for the No 1 spot in the future, and I saw this guy as the perfect choice:

View attachment 412671

View attachment 412662

Alex McCarthy

Alex is a great young player and at 23 he has just made his International debut. He currently has good ability already so is good enough in case we need to call upon him, but it is also possible he may start to challenge for first choice already as I believe he is good enough for that, and with just being 23 he will continue to develop and he has great potential. Great purchase and at just ?5.5 Million he was relatively cheap as well.

------------------------------

Unfortunately Ryan Taylor got injured in a friendly and will be out for 9 to 10 months, meaning that we only have Debuchy as a natural right back, so I saw this an opportunity to bring in some young player with potential to take over from Debuchy in a few years as he in nearly in his 30s. I saw this player and I just had to get him:

View attachment 412663

View attachment 412659

Mayke

Holy **** what a player he is! Literally one of the best all round players I have ever seen, also shown by the fact that he can play anywhere down the right hand side of the pitch so he can also be good back up for my right wingers, but if needed he is also capable of playing in the middle which is incredible for such a young age. Definitely going to be my first choice right back starting maybe next season, but it is also possible he can give Debuchy a good challenge for first choice, I cannot wait to see him play!

------------------------------

After giving my centre backs a proper good look I decided that we could do with bringing in another back up player, especially with Williamson declining very quickly and me wanting to get rid of him (which we did) and I just couldn't look past one of the most experienced centre backs in the world (530 games played):

View attachment 412657

View attachment 412661

Sylvain Distin

So happy I could get this guy for just ?500k! He is greatly experienced and would be a great purchase for most teams! Strong, powerful, not afraid to get stuck in, and saying he is 35, he is pretty quick as well! He will mostly be a back up player for us but he will definitely be my 1st choice back up so he will still get a fair amount of appearances for us.

------------------------------

So overall I am very pleased with the players we managed to bring in and think we have such a strong squad now I can definitely see us being able to get a European place. Really can't see any position we need to improve now but that could all change by January, lets get our season under way!

MOTM: Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle United)

Was great way to start the season with a very strong win! I mean the possession was pretty even but we made better use of it as we had double shots Norwich had (we had 20) and our players aim was amazing as 17 of these were on target! Unfortunately Obertan got injured right at the end but luckily it wasn't too bad and he is only out for around 3 weeks.

This was a great game for all the fans! End to end all game, tackles flying in, shots flying at goal, an incredibly action packed match! Proven by the fact there was 3 goals in the first 16 minutes! Although after our 2nd both teams defences kicked it up a gear and both performed excellently until the last 10 minutes clearly and Everton had a chance to draw right at the death but new boy Distin cleared off the line against his former team!

MOTM: Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle United)

I am actually quite disappointed with how we performed in this game... as Crawley could have easily got a draw and even possible a win from this. They had 2 goals disallowed and were actually the better team, I suppose I can use the excuse I fielded a weaker side and played a fair few youngsters but still they are players who should have been able to take Crawley apart. But still we got 2 goals and a clean sheet and we won so I suppose its still good. We will be away at QPR in the next round.

MOTM: Steven Caulker (Cardiff City)

Very disappointed with this as we were the slightly better team and we deserved at least a draw from this. Annoyed at the defence for cocking up and confused themselves to let Cardiff score so late on in the game which made it very hard for us to try and get the equaliser. But results like this happen all the time so we just need to move on to the next game and forget this performance.

View attachment 412633

So overall I am quite pleased with our start to the season and this is the kind of results I am expecting us to get most months, winning all cup games, and the majority of our league games as we are a team who is definitely capable of doing so and finishing high up in the league.

This was a very good game which we definitely deserved to win, and probably should have won it by more than just 1 goal as we really should have scored 3 or 4. Obviously slightly disappointed that we had to rely on an incredibly late to win it but a win is still a win so still happy!

MOTM: Jesus Navas (Manchester City)

Well... what can I say? We were completely outclasses in this game as Man City just tore us apart and they definitely deserved to win by such a big scoreline. Clearly shows that we do still have to improve our squad but this possibly could be put down to me using a tactic which gave Man City lots of space down the wings, oopsy!

--------------------

MOTM: Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United)

This game was actually a lot harder than I thought it would be, and that is most likely down to me playing a few weaker/younger players in the side where as QPR played a full strength team against and really gave us a run for our money. We still managed to press on and get the win even when they came at us for the last 30 mins and we will now be going on to play Liverpool at Anfield in the 4th Round.

MOTM: Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle United)

What. A. Performance. We absolutely destroyed Arsenal this game and as soon as Vermaelen was sent off the floodgates opened as Ben Arfa scored the penalty and we went on to 4 goals in 16 minutes! Our best performance so far this season as we controlled the entire game and ripped apart one of the best teams in the league! So happy with this!

League

View attachment 412609

So our great start to the season continues (bar the Man City game) as we currently sit in 5th which is a position I would gladly take at the end of the season! Although if we can continue to play like we did in the game against Arsenal we can definitely get Champions League!

Only problem we really have is that we have actually conceded the 2nd most goals in the league (10) which is obviously an issue we need to deal with, but luckily we are also the joint top goalscorers in the league (14) which helps.

Also very good to see our rivals Sunderland sat at the bottom of the table!

Ben Arfa was in great form in the last 2 games of the month as he contributed 3 goals, 4 assists and got 1 MOTM award! Even from the start I knew he was going to be one of our star players and that is why I was turning down huge bids of around 25 Million from PSG to keep him here! Definitely going to play a big part in getting us European football.

Exactly the same as the Southampton game but on a much worse scale! We had 27 shots! 63% possesion! AND WE STILL LOSE?! Bulls**t. Only consistency in this team is that Sissoko is still class for us and going to be swapping up the tactics in the next game and aim it around him.

We just didn't back down after Sissoko scored his goal and we gave nothing to Liverpool! They only managed 3 shots all game but I am sure a lot of was to do with their red card (which shouldn't have been a red) and if they had 11 men it would have been a different game, but they had 10 men, we spanked them, and we are through to the Quarter Final where will be playing MK Dons... yeah... so we are surely in the semis!

Now this... this was the hardest decision I have had to make so far... so many players played well this month; Sissoko, Marveaux, Remy, Santon... so it was really hard to choose who deserved it... I gave it to Sissoko again because of the fact he continued his great scoring run scoring in all 4 games and is now on 12 goals in 16 appearances, 10 goals in his last 10 games, scoring in the last 4 games, absolutely incredible for a midfielder!

This was a pretty average even game, both of us tussles it out for the possession and control of the game so this took the focus off both teams trying to score, but we still got the win after a moment of magic from Anita who scored a 25 yard screamer! Such a good win! Stats wise it was another even game but had lots of action and shots (mostly us 19-11) which is why we probably won, but Man Utd were really off form in this game but they were missing key players such as Rooney, Mata, Vidic and a couple of others so I am sure that helped us win.

So annoyed with this result. We deserved the win from this game, we didn't deserve to have to rely on a last minute goal to get a point as we were the much better side in this and West Ham really were poor. We dominated them throughout the entire game as they managed to have just 2! Thats right, 2! shots all game. Annoying result!

The choice to play a weaker side in this game backfired completely in normal time! Going in 1-0 down to (no offence) a team like MK Dons is just infuriating. Brought on the big guns at half time; Sissoko, Remy and Marveaux to change the game up and we got the equaliser but we really should have won it in normal time. Shows the difference in quality of players with what happened in extra time as MK Dons' players were just dead and couldn't handle Remy who tore them a new one. We are through to the semi final where we will be playing Spurs!

We definitely did not deserve to win this, especially didn't deserve to be 2-0 up at half time as we only had 4 shots all game, 2 in the first half which we scored. Another disappointing performance from us where we definitely did not deserve a point and Palace really should have beaten us quite comprehensively. This was a much better performance from us as we dominated relegation threatened Hull and didn't give them a chance. Got to feel for Haidara as he was so close to having the perfect game, 1 goal, 1 assist, MOTM when the ball ricoched off him and in... he couldn't do much about it but clearly he played incredibly well to get MOTM even after scoring an own goal! Good way to end the year.

Also another good month for as I got another one of these!:

Another of my midfielders was on great form this month! Anita had a great month for us as he picked up 3 goals, 1 assist, 2 MOTM awards and was also runner up in both Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards! My 3 midfielders; Anita, Tiote and Sissoko are performing incredibly at the moment and we definitely do not need to look at improving that position in the transfer window which is now open!

Transfers

View attachment 412098

So with letting the likes of Tavernier, Streete, Mbabu and Taylor go I knew I would need to bring another defender, mostly for cover so I saw this guy was transfer listed, quite cheap and also pretty good so decided to bring him in.

View attachment 412096

Sergi Gomez

Sergi is a young centre back/sweeper who we brought in on deadline day from Barcelone 'B'. He has mostly been brought in as a back up alongside Distin but I am sure he will still get to feature for us occasionally.

------------------------------

Now with Kemen, Bigirimana and Vuckic going out on line it left me quite thin in players who can play in the middle of the park so decided to have a look of players transfer listed or players who can be signed cheaply when I found this guy who's contract would be ending in the summer so I would be able to get him cheap now.

Very good deal in my opinion as he is quite a good player and also at just 24 still has the ability to grow so I am sure he will be a great acquisition for us. Although we have Sissoko, Tiote and Anita playing so well I will still play him as much as possible.

Thought it would be good to bring in another winger to the team to provide back up as they keep getting injured quite regularly at the moment and I couldn't believe how cheap I got this guy for...

Great signing for just 2.1 Million in my opinion! Honestly think he will become my first choice left winger for me with Ben Arfa on the right. He's fast, strong, good crossing, good stamina and great work rate... everything you could want in a winger! Cannot wait to see him play!

------------------------------

Very pleased with my transfers overall, although I do kind of wish we had brought in another striker, preferably a younger guy with potential who would be a good back up due to the sale of Cisse and loaning out Ameobi... but I am still sure De Jong, Remy and Gouffran will be able to do it for us!

Other Transfers

Stefan Savic (Fiorentina) - FC Bayern
10.75 Million

Milan Badelj (HSV) - Arsenal
8.5 Million

Adrian Ramos (Hertha BSC) - Flamengo
8.25 Million

MOTM: Loic Remy (Newcastle United)

This was a standard dominating win again for us this season as Norwich had no chance from start to finish and from just from 5 minutes I knew we were going to win this and win this well!

MOTM: Yoan Gouffran (Newcastle United)

So we were drawn against our other local rivals in this cup game... and we were lucky that we won this and got a clean sheet to be quite honest! I decided to play a weaker side in this game and it nearly backfired as Middlesborough had 2 goals disallowed... one of which should have counted! So I can quite easily say that we are very lucky to be in the next round where we have our other rivals Sunderland at home!

MOTM: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

FFS! We completely messed this up!! 3-1 up at half time, dominating them and look like we would go on to batter them even more. But nooooo our defence decides to go to absolute **** and their team comes out all guns blazing! What's even more annoying is that we were so close to getting the win but a lapse in concentration from Coloccini let Lamela through in the last minute... not happy with him!

MOTM: Tim Krul (Newcastle United)

I think the fact that Krul got MOTM kind of proves that we were lucky to get the win this game... Cardiff were on fire this game and probably deserved to win it! A quick break from one of their corners got us our goal and after that they just came straight at us and would not give us a chance to breathe. Well done to my players for standing strong and getting the win!

MOTM: Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle United)

Ooooo what a great game this was! 35 shots, 27 fouls, equal possession shows it was a very hard fought end to end game with neither team giving up for the full 90 minutes! We did very well to win this as on another day it could have easily been Evertons win!

MOTM: Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United)

Hahah oh dear Tottenham! Up until the last 20 minutes Spurs were in the driving seat and I am sure they thought they would be the ones heading to the final! But no! I kept my secret weapons Sissoko and Ben Arfa on the bench until then and as soon as they came on they linked up to set up Tiote's goal and they tore Spurs a new one in just 7 minutes! I am sure Spurs had no idea what was happening to them and the pace at which these 2 played, they couldn't handle it! We will now go into the final where we will fight it out with Manchester United for our first piece of silverware under my reign!

MOTM: Mathieu Debuchy (Newcastle United)

Saying that this was a match against our fiercest rivals and the spoils were to progress in the cup, it was pretty tame compared to what I thought it would be! I thought both squads would come out all guns blazing and going for the win... but both of us just sat back and it ended up being pretty boring... lets hope the replay game has a bit of action! Winner goes on to face our fellow Capital One Cup finalists Man Utd.

MOTM: Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

Aston Villa really shut us out this game. They were quick to close us down and didn't give us a chance on the ball which really sucked seeing as we play really nice passing attacking football. They fully deserved this win and even though I thought we were going to be able to ****** a draw at the end, we wouldn't have deserved it so fair play to them. Hopefully other teams don't start playing like this against us or the last few months are going to be a struggle!

View attachment 412027

So, apart from the last game this was a very good month for us! We move into 2nd just 1 point behind Chelsea and made it into our first Cup Final under my reign! Definitely think we have got European football, most likely Champions League football, in the bag now and also a shot at some Silverware! First season is going brilliantly for us! Also looks like Sunderland are going to be going down! Shame!

I also came runner up for the Manager of the Month award.

Davide Santon

It was very hard to choose this as even though we had won 5 of our 8 games no one had reaaaally stood out... so I decided on Santon! He always manages to keep a pretty steady average rating of around 7.3 and he is a very good player for us, one of our best. So it came as no surprise to me that we were getting bids for him throughout all of January but he is just too good to let go of!

MOTM: Tim Krul (Newcastle United)

Game packed full of action with 32 shots, Arsenal having majority of those (23) and a lot of those came after Debuchy was sent off. They really tried to take advantage of the extra man and hammered us for the remainder of the game but luckily for us Krul was in brilliant form and rightly deserved MOTM!

MOTM: Luuke de Jong (Newcastle United)

Aaaaand it feels great to get one over on our rivals yet again! Made up for the first game with enough action for 2 games easily! 37 shots, 34 fouls and end to end all game! We of course are now through to play Man Utd in the next round.

MOTM: Brede Hangeland (Fulham)

God dammit Hangeland. He had such a good game for Fulham and is easily the reason as to why Fulham managed a point from this. We definitely deserved to win this by at least 3 goals but we just could not get past their defence!

MOTM: Alvaro Negredo (Manchester City)

Really thought we were going to manage to get pay back on City for what they did to us in the reverse fixture (beat us 4-0) but we just were not able to make our chances count in a game where we were the dominant side and really should have got the win. Dam.

MOTM: Alexander Buttner (Manchester United)

Well.. we are out of this cup. And with the performance we gave we deserve to be... although I do have to give some credit to United, they had a great game and showed us why they were Champions last year and one of the teams right up behind us in the league. Hopefully get payback in the final of Capital One Cup!

MOTM: Adam Lallana (Southampton)

We didn't even deserve to lose like this. We put up a great fight in this game and it was probably actually more even and deserved to be a draw. Only difference was that they took their chances better than us and punished us for our poor finishing.

MOTM: Gabriel Obertan (Newcastle United)

Finally we put an end to our 5 game streak without a win in the league with a strong showing against Swansea! We made up for having poor finishing against Swansea with great finishing in this game! As the stats were pretty much even on shots and possession it clearly shows the lads were focused on turning our form around this game and did it well!

League

View attachment 411745

So we've had a pretty horrid time in the league recently and I am still surprised that we are still sat in 2nd! Although Chelsea have extended their lead at the top to 7 points and I think we are out of the running for that now and the league will go to Chelsea, but we are still fighting it our for 2nd with United who are 1 point behind but have a game in hand... Come on Newcastle!

View attachment 411743

Luuk de Jong

So no one performed well this month... but I decided to give it to Luuk because he single handedly got us the point at Fulham with a good solo goal but also won us the Sunderland game with his 2 goals but by also winning us the penalty for the 3rd. Seriously thinking about bringing him back here permanently in the summer.

MOTM: Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle United)

So we get pay back for them knocking us out the FA Cup and also win our first Silverware under my reign! We were so close to winning it in normal time and extra time as they battered us in the last 10 minutes of normal time and we couldn't handle them which is how they get their goal. And in extra time we had a goal disallowed in extra time which was a dodgy decision. But still we went on to win on penalties so I am very proud of the lads and we have now at least got Europa League football now thanks to this win!

MOTM: Sylvain Marveaux (Newcastle United)

Good game which we just edged so probably deserved the win... but only just. Stoke put up quite a fight and on any other day the result could have easily gone their way, but fair play to the lads for being the ones who won it!

MOTM: Luuk de Jong (Newcastle United)

Holy **** what a way to win the game! Arsenal will feel really hard done by after this as they fought back so hard and to be honest they probably deserved for it to be a draw. But no! Once it got level the guys rallied and we went overload and it worked a treat! Peppered the goal with shots in the last few minutes and clearly it paid off!

MOTM: Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United)

God dammit how did we not win this!?!?!?! We destroyed Sunderland and deserved to have put like 5 goals past them and they didn't deserve any they were so poor! Our finishing was absolutely shocking this game and I was very unhappy we didn't win this. If it wasn't against our rivals it wouldn't be as bad but it was sooo... dam.

--------------------

View attachment 411492

View attachment 411491

MOTM: Ben Foster (West Brom)

Pretty much the same as the Stoke game where we just edged it but on another day it could have easily been West Brom who won it. Our finishing was a lot better this game and 11 of our 14 shots on target but clearly Foster was on great form and pulled off some great saves so did deserve the MOTM.

View attachment 411488

Good to be back to playing well in the league again as have a good month and manage to keep hold of 2nd but Utd and City are really right up our **** right now so we are going to make sure we focus for the last games to try and keep hold of 2nd! Also of course a good month because we won the Capital One Cup! So even if we somehow don't get Champions League (highly unlikely) we at least now get Europa Cup football and some Silverware!

I rotated the squad quite a fair bit this month but I was always going to make sure this guy would play every game because we just cannot do without him. He had a great month for us as he got 2 goals, 1 assist and 1 MOTM award this month and was great for us this month! Really going to need him to play well in the last 6 games as he really does make a difference.
