Final fifteen member team for the ICC world cup 2011: India

MS Dhoni(captain and wicket keeper),
Batsmen: Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh,
Allrounder: Yusuf Pathan,
Spinners: Harbhajan Singh, R Ashwin, Piyush Chawla
Pacers: Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar, .

Very surprised that Pragyan Ojha has been left out instead of Piyush Chawla. Ashwin is awesome ODI and T20 bowler. Keeps it really tight. But Ojha is the one who can attack and take wickets. Should have dropped Piyush Chawla.

And as expected Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma are not selected.

Why did they not pick Ravindra Jadeja, he is an all-rounder and I would rate him higher than Chawla

Ravindra Jadeja is jack of all trades. Not a good bowler, average batsman, poor judgment for running between wickets and good fielder.

Not a lot between him and Chawla, Chawla is good bowler wheras Jadeja is better batsman. But dropping Ojha is poor decision IMO. He is very good bowler and wicket taking bowler who is not afraid to toss the ball. Very very poor decision to drop him and I'm very disappointed with this decision.

yeah u got good points there and I just remembered that it will be handy for us to take along 3 specialist spinners due to the sub-continent pitches, Rohit Sharma was rightfully dropped after his shambles of a performance in South Africa and he still looked unfit, Virat Kohli has been a revelation and should be contesting Raina for a starting berth especially when you consider Raina's bad run of form but I think the selectors would go for Raina, Munaf Patel bowled well in South Africa too so overall it looks a strong line-up, good enough to win the World Cup imo

Yes, we dont need Jadeja as Yuvi can chip in with few overs so can Sehwag.

Sachin. Sehwag, Gambhir, *1, Yusuf Pathan, Kohli, Dhoni, Bhajji, Zaheer, *, Ashwin

*1 Raina or Yuvraj. Considering the form, Raina should start ahead of Yuvraj. But it wont happen i guess. Eventually both will play and Kohli will be dropped:'(

* One pacer spot is up for grab. Praveen Kumar, Nehra and Munaf are all of same quality or lack of. So anyone can get the nod. Nothing to choose between them.

And i would like to see Ashwin getting chances. He is very good ODI bowler. Gets it right and keeps it very simple.

Mitchell Johnson getting owned by James Anderson.

Yuvraj is a ManUtd fan, so is Kholi and If I'm not wrong Sachin too..

Chris Gayle scored 37 runs in 1 over. What a player.

Thank you WIndies for leaving him out..

Wow on England today and what a spell by Tremlett. Truly class. He is a top player when on top form.

lost by 5 wickets to Pakistan and there was only 8 balls left. Rankin had one over that went for 15 which lost us the match really.
At least it proves we were competitive

On a completely different and off-topic note...anyone else dream about living in a world where SI would maybe make a "Cricket Manager" series with almost as much depth as FM? I mean, it would be kinda cool if we could get Brazil to the top 10 of cricket teams one day..by making sure the local league clubs have a good youth recruitment/training system, so that good regens/wonderkids with high PA come through..the next Sachin Tendulkar..from Germany.stuff like that :)

The English domestic 20-20 competition starts tonight with the opening game (Hampshire v Somerset a repeat of last years final) live on Sky Sports 1 from 7pm.

I'm really looking forward to it and I was just wondering if anyone is going to watch it and if anyone had any opinion on who they think will win the competition. Personally I'm an Essex fan and I would like to think we have a great chance to win it this year with the likes of Bopara, Ten Doeschate, Napier, Styris and Southee.

Thoughts please

Well Germany don't play cricket (as far as I'm aware) so that's a bit far fetched. There is a cricket manager game available of sorts called 'International Cricket Captain' which is a decent game if you're a fan of the sport.

They do, actually, and so do Brazil. :)

And i've been playing Cricket Captain since the 2002 series, but honestly, it sucks bigtime if you play FM..There's also a Cricket Coach series, as you may know, which has the IPL in it..But none of them come close to being a Cricket version of FM!

On a far more interesting note, my team (Castor & Ailsworth CC) start our midweek T20 campaign in the prestigious Peterborough Jaidka Cup tonight, with a big match against Barnack CC. There is unlikely to be any TV coverage, but the game will be covered by the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.

Aha well you've proved me wrong. I'd never heard of the German cricketing legend Asif Kahn before but I'm sure we will hear great things about him in the future.

I agree that an FM version of cricket would be fantastic but it's never going to happen unfortunately :(

Cricket Captain is amazing!

England's batting is looking incredible at the moment, i'm sure Strauss is just going through a blip and if you consider the fact that we might have Cook, Trott, Pieterson, Bell, Morgan and Prior all in form for the next match, things are looking good! We still need to improve bowling though and I feel the sooner Anderson comes back the better.

P.S Bell is the best batsmen ever. Behind Cook.

P.P.S Bring on India! That's the real test as (not being a cocky englishman here or anything) I think we should be able to win this series.
