Espanyol - The Royal Spanish Sports Club

That's it, Nakamura lol! His long shots and free kicks are absolutely amazing!

weak month of you mate, good draw against rivals barcelona tought :)

Yep, very disappointing. Hoping to bounce back now this month. Still room for improvement everywhere, so I'm going to get that sorted hopefully.

DECEMBER

5.12.09: Real Zaragoza 2 : 2 ESPANYOL – Gabi (15), I. Uche (57) : J. Verdu (7),V. Laguardia O.G. (21)
13.12.09: Valencia 1 : 0 ESPANYOL – D. Villa (83)
20.12.09: ESPANYOL 1 : 2 Valladolid – B. Sahar (44) : Manucho (57), F. Canobbio (74)

Yet another disappointing month, failing to win in all three games. A personal message has come to me that if I don’t beat Villarreal then my position at the club will be terminated.

unluck last month mate but u are doing well, dont remember them that high up in table

Updates of January and hopefully February later, I have footy training now. Have around 6 games this month to impress, I've already been told 3 times I may be sacked if I don't perform well.

JANUARY

3.1.2010: ESPANYOL 4 : 0 Villarreal – R. Tamudo (15), B. Sahar (19), N. Pareja (39), J. Verdu (64)
7.1.10 (Spanish Cup 5th Round Leg 1): ESPANYOL 1 : 1 Valencia – R. Tamudo (17) : N. Zigic (89)
10.1.10: Racing 2 : 1 ESPANYOL – S. Appiah (1), A. Geijo (33) : B. Sahar (62)
13.1.10 (Spanish Cup 5th Round Leg 2): Valencia 2 (3) : (1) 0 ESPANYOL – D. Villa (21), Joaquin (88)
16.1.10: Athletico Madrid 0 : 2 ESPANYOL – S. Nakamura (pen 39), B. Sahar (83)
24.1.10: ESPANYOL 0 : 0 Athletic Bilbao
31.1.10: ESPANYOL 4 : 0 Real Mallorca – S. Nakamura (26, 44, 45+2) D. Aouate O.G. (57)

A very satisfying month seeing as last month was **** and we had 5 league matches and 2 cup games which I really wasn't bothered about. Two fantastic 4-0 wins (both at home) and a fantastic away win at Athletico Madrid, you'll probably all agree ;)

I'm ****** happy with those results! I'm climbing the table slowly now ;)

You started brilliaint but then fell away a bit, but it seems you've got yourself back on track so well done mate, hopefully you can keep pushing up the table :).

FEBRUARY

7.2.10: Sevilla 4 : 4 ESPANYOL – I. Dragutinovic (2, 25), Renato (35, 39) : S. Nakamura (30), R. Tamudo (44, 75), A. Karamyan (76)
14.2.10: ESPANYOL 2 : 4 Tenerife – R. Tamudo (9), B. Sahar (55) : J. Hens (7), A. Alfaro (18), Dinei (pen 31, pen 70)
21.2.10: Almeria 1 : 4 ESPANYOL – J. Forlin O.G. (82) : J. Marquez (38), J. Verdu (51), B. Sahar (64), R. Tamudo (78)
28.2.10: ESPANYOL 3 : 1 Getafe – S, Nakamura (47, pen 53), B. Sahar (82) : R. Soldado (1)

A couple of good results, disappointed to lose to Tenerife, and I’m really pleased with away draw to Sevilla, seeing as I did go 4-1 down (4-2 by half time). 13 goals in 4 games isn’t bad, but conceding 10 isn’t pleasing. Still, I managed to get 7 points out of a possible 12.

21.3.10: Deportivo 1 : 4 ESPANYOL – Sergio (52) : R. Tamudo (12), J. Verdu (15), S. Nakamura (pen 45, pen 58)
28.3.10: ESPANYOL 4 : 4 Real Madrid – N. Pareja (45, 52), R. Tamudo (45+1), B. Sahar (75) : G. Higuain (2), Pepe (25), K. Benzema (43), C. Ronaldo (pen 84)

A truly remarkable comeback against R. Madrid saw me 4-3 up after going 3-0 down just before half time, only for the referee to give a penalty against us, which was the wrong decision. Makes a change, no losses this month. Have Barcelona next month, so let’s see what happens :p

Cheers mate. I reckon all the players have gelled properly now and it's only a matter of keeping the form going. I'm happy with 5th place but really would like to challenge 4th, maybe even third :p

**** how strong against real, from 0-3 to 4-3, impressive (H)

An average month for us, ****** ecstatic over the 2-1 win at the Nou Camp. Slightly disappointed by the previous scoreline, but 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss isn’t bad.

End Of Season Review

A truly great season overall for Espanyol. The media predicted a 10th-place spot for us in the league, but we finished 4th above all expectations. A tremendous start to the season, a few dodgy defeats during the middle of the season, and we bounced back towards the end, showing Real Madrid and Barcelona that we’re no pushovers.

Performace of the Season: R. Madrid 4 : 4 ESPANYOL
