FMBase Lost Talents 2.0 - Attackers' Revenge Story

JUNE Updates:
scaled.php

Starting the June update will be the U-20 International tournament French Youth Invitational held in France. Colombia finished the tournament in 3rd place and Reginald Bottomtoucher Jr got his first taste of competition and he didn't disappoint. Scoring 1 goal and getting 2 assists in 4 matches played and not to forget 2 yellow cards that saw him miss the Semi-Finals vs France, who ended up winning the tournament. Bottomtoucher was gutted to have missed the match, but his overall form was positive enough.
universidaddechile.png

Universidad de Chile and Raul have provisionally agreed to a contract that would be signed in June 2013 that will see his wage rise to $275 a week. Unfortunately, Raul was got injured while training and will be out between 3 to 5 weeks by suffering a lower back stress fracture. The team didn't give up on him as they agreed with the new aforementioned contract.

OTHER News:
copaliber.png

In the Copa Libertadores, Sao Paulo ended up winning the tournament after beating Lanus 5-3 on aggregate. Sao Paulo had beat Santos 3-3 due to away goals while Lanus had won 3-0 at home after losing 2-0 in the first leg away from home against Independiente. Even though Santos crashed out of the semis, Neymar still won the Golden Boot with 12 goals in the tournament and also won the Best Player of the Tournament award. He would have loved to win the Copa though.

- I will be uploading the player's attributes in the July Update. Like that it will coincide with the 1 year anniversary since we started this story. 1 year in FM12 i mean. ;)

Its not the first time it happens and i just dont get it way seeing how the players do have good stats. Its just maybe the country doesnt have good enough scouts maybe. Oh well. Better luck next time, what can i say.

JULY Updates:
I've been wanting to put this update up for days now, but the forum was just working right for me. Dont know if i was th only one, but it took ages to load and most of the time it just quit and never loaded. It was a real **** off. But now its fine and the updates will be back.

realespporclub.png

We will start with Juan Pablo Miguel, he has finally started his first match for the Youth Team. His first match of his career. Congratulations.
riverg.png

River Plate might not have started the season, but the youth squad started this month. Batistuta already started 2 matches and has already provided 2 assists. Averaging 7.50 in rating. Not bad for a start.
centralt.png

Javier Squeekles has started to make a statement for Rosario Central. He has started in all 3 friendlies, scoring 3, assisting 2 others and being the MotM on 1 occasion. With 1 more friendly match before the start of the Argentinion 2nd Division season starts, will Squeekles do enough to get a senior squad regular spot?
danubio.png

Danubio's Ignacio Ballena hit a hat-trick in the team's first friendly match to put his opponent to the sword beating them 3-0. Danubio have gotten rid of a few first XI players through the summer, or winter in South America, and that might have been a sign to replace them with the youth sensation Ignacio Ballena.

TRANSFER News:
- Some high priced transfers in the summer for Europe -
* Santos' Neymar has moved to Real Madrid after months of rumors and talks. Real Madrid paid $55,000,000 for his services. Santos again have lost more talented players. Will they be the team they usd to be?
* Marvin Martin has moved from Sochaux to Manchester United for $34,000,000
* While Arsenal signed Samba from Blackburn for $33,000,000
* Sandro moved to PSG, from Tottenham, for almost $21,000,000
* Arsenal also went for Real Madrid's Marcelo, for $19,000,000, AND Angel di Maria, $25,500,000
* The Brazilian League also lost anther talented player. This time, Kleberson has moved from Palmeiras to Tottenham Spurs for a fee of $21,000,000
* River Plate have sold Carlos Sanchez for $4,500,000 to FC Twente

OTHER News:
- Players in the Brazilian League haven't had any playing time this past month. :( Surely time is coming later this year once the games start racking up or as injuries start to catch up in the team.
- Still getting used to the different league timings of all the leagues in South America. Its mental. Every league has different timings. Brazil for example has their League and the State Championship. Going on ALL year. And then one has to remember that South America's summer is the normal winter that we are used to.

PLAYERS' Attributes:
As promised, here are the player's attributes.

AUGUST Updates:
gremiob.png

Hulkster turned 16 years old this past month and Gremio was quick their young player to sign a professional contract. Hogan said that he was very delighted to sign the new 2 year contract. In front family, friends and manager, Hulkster signed a $1100/week contract. But with few games played, it seems that his family will benefit the most. Here is the full contract signed a week back.

danubio.png

Ignacio Ballena is starting to make headlines...from the Youth Team! Papers headline said: 'Classy Ballena On Form!'. Not only is he on form, he was given another chance with the senior squad as a sub. In the 5 matches played for the youth team, he has scored 8 goals, 5 in the last 2 games, and has amassed 2 MotM awards in those 2 games. He has been gathering attention lately and for good reason.
riverg.png

River Plate fans will be gutted to hear that Batistuta suffered a minor injury that will see him sidelined for 3 weeks. It's veru unfortunate for Martin. He has been in great shape in the pre-season, playing all 4 friendlies for River Plate, assisting 3 goals and getting 1 MotM award. This injury just before the start of the season will surely see him back in the Youth Team to get back in shape before moving forward again.
centralt.png

Rosario's Javier Squeekles' very impressive pre-season form hasn't gone unnoticed by other teams. After amassing 3 goals, 2 assists and 1 MotM performance, River Plate are hot to sign the player. News has it that they have a major interest on the player. If River Plate are able to sign the player and assign him into the line-up, watch out for a devistating prospect of seeing Javier Squeekles and Martin Batistuta playing with to each other.

OTHER News:
- As usual, if i didnt update your player, or mine in that case as well, than the player didn't play any matches. Well, Oswaldo did play, 2 matches. But didn't do much even though he played well.
- The story is slowly starting to pick up speed. So hopefully things get busier as the season moves along.
- A noteworthy transfer from August is Bosingwa moving from Chelsea to Malaga for $7,250,000.

Cheers dude!Oswaldo Nino's Stats are starting to pick up, looking forward to his 16th birthday!

Looking good so far man , i'd love to end up in River Plate alongside Batistuta.

SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER Updates:
cruzeiron.png

Starting with Cruzeiro, their young talented striker, Matthew Cameron, has rejected a new 3 year deal with the club. Cameron made only 2 appearances this year for Cruzeiro, scoring 1 goal. The reason for rejecting the new contract is said to have been the new wage was laughable in Cameron's view. $55 a week is already a low wage, so its most likely that the club doesn't think he deserve more than the double. For now though, both are keeping the true figures secret and talks have stalled for the moment.
danubio.png

In the past 2 months, Ignacio has made 2 extra appearances this year for the senior squad. In the youth league though, he has been keeping up with his killer instinct in front of goal. Scoring 18 goals in 20 appearances. Slowly, Ballena is getting integrated into the senior squad to get used to the pace and physicality of the top league and it will only be a matter of time before he gets a regular spot.
deportivopetare.png

Oswaldo has been on a steady form this season for Deportivo Petare. Cementing his position as a first choice midfielder as the season moves along. In the past 2 months, Nino has started every match for Petare. This far into the season, Oswaldo Nino has made 11 appearances, scored 1 goal, assisted 3 goals and getting 1 MotM award for his efforts. Easily the most progressed players of the Lost Talent Pool of players this generation has produced. Dont bet on him staying with Deportivo Petare any longer if he keeps his form up this season. He will want to win medals sooner or later.
gremiob.png

Since Hulk Hogan signed his new contract with Gremio, he has been rewarded with 3 starts with the senior squad. Even though he wasn't able to produce any goals, he was able to create 1 for his teammate. Overall though, he has had decent outings for his clubs. The future is starting to look bright for Hulkster. Will he make his 'rumored' father proud?

OTHER News:

- Gremio are now sitting in 4th place of the Brazilian league, while Cruzeiro are 5th. Vitoria, the newly promoted team, is sitting comfortably in 9th place with 6 matches left to play in the league.
- Oswaldo's Deportivo Petare are in 2nd place after 13 matches played in the Venezuelan League, the most improved team of all, compared to last seaso. All the while, Juan Pablo Miguel's team, Real Esppor, are in 5th.
- The Uruguayan League hasn't been all bright for Danubio, Ignacio Ballena's club. They are now sitting in 12th place in the League and will have to work harder if they would want to move up the table. Maybe giving Ballena more time with the senior squad will give them the spark needed to start scoring goals again. They have only scored 5 goals in 9 matches this season.

*For the next few updates, ill be doing 2 months at the time to get this going a bit faster until all players become members of the senior squads. Well, more like getting more time on the pitch is more like it. hehe. Plus, i want to get to 2014 as soon as possible to get Reginald Bottomtoucher Jr and Valderrama some attention cause they haven't made many appearances in the Story. Chivas robbed them from news...but i think they will be all over it once they join them.

NOVEMBER & DECEMBER Updates:
danubio.png

Its hard to believe that, with all the goals he has scored in his Youth career, Ignacio Ballena hasn't scored a hat-trick until the first match of November. And what a way to do it. 3 goals in 3 shots...all within 17 minutes. This just shows that Ballena is more of a consistent striker than a streaker kind of player... i think that came out wrong. Oh well, consistent and lethal. 28 goals in 25 games for the Youth Squad this season. As well as 2 assists and 6 MotM awards.

centralt.png

With January just around the corner, transfer rumors have been running high. River Plate going after Rosario's promising young striker, Javier Squeekles, has been gathering some steam. As they say, there is no smoke without fire. Squeekles, valued at around $900,000, is said to be available at around $1,500,000 if River Plate would want to sign him from his current club. To add fuel to the fire, Javier Squeekles has told reporters that he would love to play for River Plate. He also said that even though he does want to move, he doesn't have much say due to the fact he is under Rosario contract for the next 14 months. He might be forced to stay with Rosario, unless they receive the desired amount for his transfer to go through. We will keep a close eye on the matter.
deportivopetare.png

Deportivo Petare's Oswaldo Nino has made 6 further appearances for the club. In those 6 matches, Nino was able to add 2 more assists under his name as well as a 2nd MotM award. All the while, the club has remained in 2nd place but have slipped to 9 points away from 1st place, Caracas FC. With 10 matches left to go int he campaign, it will be a race to 2nd place between Deportivo Petare, Yaracuyanos and Deportivo Tachira, who are all seperated by 1 point. For those who dont know, teams finishing 1st and 2nd will play a 2 leg play-offs to crown the champion of the year.
braw.png

3 players from the Lost Talent players have made appearances for Brazil's U-20 Squad in the past 2 months. Hulkster, Valderrama and Matthew Cameron. Messy Hallow was in the squad, but didn't start any of the matches played. Until now, Hulkster has got 5 goals in 10 appearances, Valderrama got 8 appearances and 2 goals under his name. Matthew Cameron has been the most prolific between the lot with 11 goals in 16 appearances.
arga.png

Martin Batistuta might not have been getting much time with River Plate this season, but he has been logging in some major minutes for Argentina's U-20 squad ahead of the South American U-20 Tournament come January. Until now, Batistuta has got 3 goals in 15 appearances.

OTHER News:
8830770.png

Come January and February, fans of football in South America will have the eyes in Brazil to watch the Sudamericano, the U-20 Nationals Tournament. Groups have been drawn and here are the groups for the tournament.

Group A:
Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela
Group B: Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay

We will be looking hard into the tournament to see how all of our players do. With Ignacio hitting top form, it will be interesting to see how he performes in the tournament. Not to forget Matthew Cameron, who even though hasn't played much with his current club, has been devastating for Brazil's U-20 squad when called upon. Brazil will be favorites to win it, not because they are hosts, but because they will be the 3 times defending champions. You also cant count out many of the teams out this year because of the amount of talent on display in many different teams.

JANUARY & FEBRUARY Updates:

Wow, ok, this is going to be long lads. I think after this update, i will start going back to Monthly updates. Most players have had lots of matches played and i will be going player by player in this update. So bare with me. I will end the update with the South American U-20 Tournament that was played in January and ended in February.

realespporclub.png

We will start the update with the first player on the watch list, Juan Pablo Miguel. After going months without seeing some action, he has made 4 appearances lately for Real Esppor. Miguel has also been promoted from the Youth Squad to the Senior Squad. Even though only making 4 appearances, its a move that he has been looking for a while now, and will surely grab the opportunity with both hands. Real Esppor's season hasn't been going the way they have wanted it. They are now in 7th place in the league with 6 games left. For Juan Pablo, 2013 will be a positive one and will be eagerly waiting for the new season to start at the end of the year.
gremiob.png

It seems the Hulkster has awaken in February for Gremio. Since coming back from the U-20 Tournament earlier in the month, he has made 3 appearance, scoring 5 goals, assisting 1 goal and getting 1 MotM award. What a way to make an impact with the team. He is at the moment in top shape. The form started during the U-20, more info after the club updates. Sensational stuff! Gremio, for their part, have steam rolled through the Gaucho State Championship Apertura and will now face Internacional in the Finals before the start of the Gaucho State Champions Clausura.
universidaddechile.png

Universidad de Chile received the worse news possible during the Sudamericano U-20 Tournament after Raul was diagnosed with knee tendonitis. Raul will be sidelined for almost 5 months. A huge blow for a young promising striker that wanted to make a name for himself. We wish Raul a speedy recovery and Universidad said they will monitor his progress closely and make sure he recovers fully before making a return.
centralt.png

The transfer for Javier Squeekles didnt go through as planned with Rosario Central declining the transfer bid from River Plate. If you want to look at it at a positive note, Squeekles became the first of the Lost Talents to receive a National Cap by playing for Bolivia in the South American World Cup Qualifier vs Paraguay. Even though Bolivia lost, Javier still put up a decent performance. He also broke the record by becoming the youngest ever player to be part of the Bolivian National team at the age of 16 years and 254 days old. Bright future ahead.
vitora.png

Vitoria's Messy Hallow is another player who has been promoted to the Senior Squad after the U-20 Tournament. Since coming back, its been a roller coaster ride for Hallow. Appearing in 3 matches, scoring 2 goals, followed by an unfortunate hip injury that will sideline him for up to 5 weeks. Vitoria will be waiting impatiently for their young striker to come back as strong as before. Vitoria, by the way, were able to qualify to the 2nd stage of the Brazilian Bahia State Championship, after topping the 1st stage's Group by losing only 1 game, and scoring 21 goals while conceding only 2.
danubio.png

Ignacio Ballena missed the Sudamericano U-20 Tournament with a mysterious undisclosed injury. With many calls gone unanswered, it was unfortunate to have known that one of the most promising talents in South America miss one of the most important tournament for youth players to show their abilities against other youth talents. On club level though, after coming back from his injury, he was able to come back in good shape, maybe not as clinical as before, but good enough to raise his goal tally to 33 goals in 38 appearances. You might call it a goal slump of some sorts, but he was still able to produce some assists to give him 6 on the year as well as collecting 7 MotM on the way.
deportivopetare.png

Another young talent to miss the Sudamericano U-20s, Oswaldo Nino had received a damaged shoulder he picked up during a training session and was sidelined for 4 weeks. It was a shame, Nino was Venezuela's Captain and the national squad missed his determination, bravery and work rate. In the league side of things, he has made 19 total appearances for the club this season, scoring 1 goal, assisting 5 others and getting 2 MotM awards.

2013 Sudamericano U-20 Tournament Review
Starting in Group A of the 1st Round, Brazil past through the group stages with unbelievable ease. Winning all their 4 matches, scoring 15 goals and conceding only 2. Colombia came in 2nd place with 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss. Chile came in 3rd place with the same record, but with a worse goal difference. The player of the Group Stages was none other than...Hulkster! Scoring 5 out of the 15 goals for Brazil. Putting his name on the map for everyone to witness. Cameron and Hallow were also able to put their names on the score-sheet by getting 2 goals each. Messy Hallow was even able to pick up 2 assists in the last match of the Group Stages. As for Colombia's Reginald Bottomtoucher, he was able to captain his side to the 2nd round with wonderful display of football by controlling the match against Venezuela. In that particular match, he was able to make 65 passing attempts and connecting on 42 occasions. He was sensational during that game. The only game he didnt play, against Brazil, Colombia got rapped and pillaged 4-1, Hulkster getting 2 goals.

Group B saw Argentina being as dominant as Brazil. Winning all their matches, scoring 12 goals and conceding only 1 goal in the process. Batistuta was able to score the first goal of the first match of the group stage to set the pace for his team through out the round. Martin did not make any appearances in the next 2 matches, but in the final match of the Group Stages, he made a point to his manager by creating 2 goals in a 4-0 win over Ecuador. Ignacio Ballena-less Uruguay finished in 2nd place with 3 wins and 1 loss. Paraguay rounded the top 3 with 2 wins and 2 losses.

In the 2nd Round, the 6 teams were put into a another Group Stage where they all play, in a league system, to see who will top the group. This time, Argentina were too strong to handle by going undefeated, winning all their 5 matches. Scoring 16 goals and conceding only 3 on the way to dominating the tournament from the word go. In the 2nd Group Stage, Martin Batistuta made 3 more appearances and was able to add 1 goal to his tally and help his national side win the tournament by getting an assist in the tournament winning goal in the Final game against Brazil, after coming on as a substitute.

Brazil ended up in 2nd place after losing to Argentina 2-1 in the final game of the group stage. Hulkster was able to add 6 more goals in the 2nd round. The only time he didnt score, Brazil lost. Make what you want from it, but Hogan was pivotal to Brazil's success, and Argentina was able to put him out of his game when it counted most. In the end though, Hulkster was able to get a total of 11 goals in the tournament, announcing to the world a new Brazilian striker has emerged into the footballing world. Cameron was able to add 1 assist to his stats in the 2 matche he played. Messy Hallow though, didnt take part in any of the matches in the 2nd round. Many Brazilian fans believe that the manager should have given him a chance to play a part in the team.

Other notable points was Bottomtoucher Jr. The Venezuelan Captain was able to score 1 goal and 1 assist in the 3 matches he played, before picking up a minor knock that made him miss the final 2 matches of the tournament.

So everyone, please put your hands together for Argentina, for winning the Tournament with total domination, winning every match played, scoring 28 goals and conceding only 4 goals all along. What an accomplishement. And now, for the tournament awards.

OTHER News:
- The next national youth tournament will be the U-20 World Cup that will take place in Turkey. The 4 South American Nations that will take part in the World Cup are; Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay. So this is the next time our players will be showcasing their talent to the world and hopefully be raising more eyebrows and, you never know, get a few European clubs knocking on their clubs' door. Until then though, players will be commited to imporve with in their respective leagues and the draw will take place in April.
- David Villa was able to pick up the FIFA's Ballon d'Or and Football Player of the Year beating Fabregas to both awards.

---

Alright, this was a long one lads. Hope you enjoyed it. Things are really starting to heat up here for the race of the best Lost Talent 2 player. After Bottomtoucher picked up the first medal last season, Batistuta trumped him by winning the first 'major' medal with Argentina after dominating the tournament from start to finish. In the process, Hull 'Hulkster' Hogan left the tournament with a major statement by finishing with 11 goals and 2 assists in 8 appearances.

Take care lads, and enjoy ur night...or day, when ever you read this. :D If there were any spelling mistakes, please ignore. Its a little late at the moment and after going through all the stats and match results, i just wasn't that bothered of re-reading all the i wrote. hehe. Anyway, peace for now and i will be making another update soon.

Haha I am loving this story!

Slightly disappointed about the shoulder injury hampering leading my national side out in the U-20's tournament, clearly affected the lads!
